| Description: | In Monster Truck Fun, students will learn interesting STEM-based monster truck facts and Biblical application. Sharon Czerwien will use monster trucks as the main analogy to teach Bible themes such as perseverance, trusting God during tough times, and playing by the rules.
In this monster truck class, Mrs. Czerwien will use her book, "Bumps Are Okay for KIDS and Other Biblical Lessons Learned from Monster Trucks!" Though Mrs. Czerwien will use the material in her book as the main thrust of this class, purchasing the book will not be necessary to enroll.
Monster Truck Fun will include a variety of hands-on and STEM-based activities, short monster truck video clips, painting, sensory bins, and “kid-friendly” Bible application.
All students will be provided with a toy monster truck to use for different hands-on activities. The students will then be able to take the trucks home on the last day.
In the final class, the students will be able to work together to engineer a toy-sized monster truck rally.

Week 1: Monster Truck Bumps

Week 2: Strong Frames
The Bible is your strong frame to survive life’s bumps.
Week 3: Tire Pressure and the “Uh-Oh Factor”
There are shocking moments in life—just like the deflated-looking monster truck tires!
Week 4: Driver perseverance
God can give you strength to persevere.
Week 5: A Dizzying Ride
When life is dizzying, remember Who is always with you.
Week 6: Track Officials/Playing by the Rules
There are important “track officials” in your life.
Week 7: The Need for Expert Help
God has placed needed “experts” in your life.
Week 8: Prepared Drivers
Spiritual Preparation is necessary in life.
Week 9: A Fitted Seat for Each Driver
Remember to let the Bible be at home in your heart.
Week 10: Dirty and Broken Monster Trucks
Even when you mess up, God can forgive you and use you again!
Week 11: Lightweight Parts
When you feel weighed down with stress, cast your worries to God.
Week 12: Suspension Systems for the Bumps
A spiritual suspension system is necessary to survive your bumps.
Week 13: Painting Day
Week 14: Guest Speaker show roll cage or truck (if schedules work out) 0r “Sensory Play Day”
Week 15: Science Day
Week 16: Party Day and Construct a Rally |
