I have enjoyed teaching math for many years now and strive to make this class as enjoyable and pain-free as possible, but with that said the student will definitely need to put in the time each week to complete their homework. It is a twice a week class, Mondays and Wednesdays. I have made videos for the student to watch each week before they come to class, which will provide them with a clear picture of what to expect for the week, not to mention I do a portion of their homework in the videos. 😊 The videos will also help if your family is out of town or the student misses a class. You will need to have Google classroom to view the videos and Marco Polo for one on one communication as needed.
Major Concepts and Skills Covered:
*Fluently adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing positive and negative numbers
*Understanding and simplifying exponents
*Using properties of operations, order of operations, and absolute value
*Expanding understanding of place value
*Evaluating radicals
*Identifying the least common multiple and greatest common factor
Requires Math U See Prealgebra Student Pack (workbook and test book). Students must have a good handle on multiplication, division, and fractions.
Homework: 1-2 hours depending upon their knowledge of the subject
