Let us introduce you to the fun of ballet, tap, and tumbling! We will explore different forms of movement in an engaging, energetic class. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Students in this class will be performing in our wonderful Spring Dance Show that is focused on the life of Christ. This class will be performing in the Spring Dance Shows the week of May 16-22, final dates TBD. Details will be provided in full at our mandatory parent meeting to be held at 7pm on Monday, February 28th. (We are adjusting some things that should enable students to invite more family and friends to enjoy the event. We are considering all young student and level one classes to be split among the performances, but also to offer more performances that will allow better viewing opportunities and parking.) Parental attendance to this meeting is mandatory in order to ensure clarity of information and the success of your dancer’s performance. Please read the updated class syllabus that is pinned to your class channel. Students taking multiple classes (or siblings) receive 25% off their second class taken with the same instructor. Description:
Fairytales and Tutus is a creative ballet class for children, incorporating favorite children’s stories, enchanting costumes, colorful props, and the magic of make-believe! Ballet Attire: Leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. Hair should be secured off the face and neck in either a bun or a ponytail Hair must be secured on the face and neck either in a bun or ponytail.
Each week, a new story will come to life though ballet instruction, creative movement, dancing games, colorful costumes, and plenty of imagination! Children will learn ballet basics and incorporate that technique as a character in our weekly story!
Dancers will walk gracefully through a castle, use balance while leaping over a river, and practice coordination while skipping through the forest.

Description:
This is an upbeat, fun and fast paced dance class that will incorporate multiple styles of dance such as contemporary, modern, jazz and ballet. Students will learn dance history and have an opportunity to create some of their our choreography for our Spring show. Previous dance classes are a must for your child to get the most out of this experience. Students will focus on turns, jumps, leaps, kicks and isolation's. We will warm up, stretch, do center work and across the floor exercises. Students are encouraged to explore their own style and artistry through the exposure to various styles. Along with technique we will practice expressing the emotion that makes dance come alive. Some parts will be rigorous and we will work up a sweat. Comfortable dance clothes and hair pulled off the face are preferred.Students in this class will be performing in our wonderful Spring Dance Show that is focused on the life of Christ. Description:
Creative movement for kids will encourage age appropriate movement that helps strengthen fine motor and gross motor skills. In this program, we will introduce the art of dance and music in a very fun, loving and professional environment. We will work on skills such as rhythm, coordination, self confidence, discipline and structure. In a addition we will also work on social skills like taking turns, making friends, teamwork and listening skills. We will use body actions to communicate an image (leaf falling) communicate a journey (seeds growing into plants reaching for the sun) or communicate feelings such as strength and joy. Both boys and girls enjoy these classes. All children benefit including those with communication, sensory, developmental or physical challenges. Please have your child in comfortable clothes to dance in and hair pulled off the face. Please have a water bottle labeled with your child's name along with a snack and restroom opportunity before class. In this class, students will build on what they learned in the first year class by improving their basic steps, their ability to follow instructions, ballet etiquette, and dancing with a group. Students must have taken one year of Ballet 1A last year or have teacher approval. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Dancers will have the opportunity to share some of what they’ve learned at an informal Winter Showcase (December 6th/7th) and a dance at our Spring Dance Show. The Spring Show is scheduled for the weekend of May 20th and 21st at 6:00 PM, with more details to come at the mandatory parent meeting in the fall.
