Is FPHRC a school? Are you accredited?

No. FPHRC is a homeschool resource center. Our classes are meant to supplement your homeschool. Homeschool credits are given by the parent for the courses taken at home as well as elsewhere.

Are your teachers certified?

Not necessarily. Some of our teachers have certifications, but most are members of the community who have a passion and want to share it with others! All teachers are Christian and must sign a statement of faith to teach at the Center.

Are parents required to participate?

Parents are not required to teach or volunteer (but we love it when they do!) unless participating in one of our co-op programs. Parents must remain on-site while their children 13 and under are attending classes and supervise their children when not in class.

How much does it cost?

There is a $100 membership fee per family per semester due at the time of registration. Class fees are set by individual teachers and supplies fees cover the cost of materials for the class. FPHRC charges a $4/hour admin fee as well to cover administrative costs.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, we have a scholarship program which can help offset the cost for qualifying families. Email us at for more information.

How many classes can my children take?

Remember, the Center is meant to be supplemental. An ideal number of classes per student is 1-3. We suggest trying to condense your classes to one or two days.

Can I attend the Center if I live outside of Clark County? If we don’t homeschool?

Yep! We welcome families from Oregon and Washington. Our classes are open to non-homeschool families as well.

Do you offer summer programs?

Yes! We try to offer parent education courses, reading programs, and a variety of camps each summer. Check our website for updates.

How can I start my own resource center?

With a lot of prayer, providence, and people! The Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center is the result of years of hard work and generous donations of time and resources from the community. God has been so faithful during our journey and we are so thankful for what He has provided us. Purchase our Resource Center Start-Up Guide here.

How much time does it take to homeschool?

A typical day can vary from half an hour to half a day depending on the student, parent, season of life, and more! Know that homeschooling is much more efficient than traditional school so it is often easier to cover much more material in much less time.

Am I qualified to homeschool?

YES! In the state of Washington, you must meet specific requirements in order to homeschool your children, but rest assured, you can do this and we are here to help!

Do you sell xyz curriculum?

Maybe! Email for specific inventory questions or drop by the bookstore during our regular business hours to see for yourself.
