Description:
This class is a hands-on adventure of learning the old craftsmanship of wheel throwing. It is geared towards ALL LEVELS of pottery students, from beginning to advanced.Throughout the weeks I give demos and work with them individually, helping them to build on their skills. Students have the opportunity to learn from a potter how to be a potter. From beginning to end in the wet clay work, the decoration and the trimming, the glazing and the firing, they will learn how to make vessels in clay including bowls, cups, plates and vases. They will be sketching pots, making pots, building new friendships and having loads of fun as they get their hands into clay and water. While this is primarily a hands-on class, students will also be keeping a pottery notebook in which they will be encouraged to write notes, journal and sketch throughout the week. This taps into some art, design and science studies. They’ll be learning basic terminology of the ceramics studio from kiln to kaolin as they study temperatures and techniques, form and function. If your student is curious, passionate about it already or even rather intimidated, sign them up! You never know until you try. This class is excellent for socialization and teamwork as the pottery studio becomes a weekly source of art therapy and camaraderie.

Description:
Coach Matt's goal is to develop champions beyond the wrestling mat. He has a structured program based on values, commitment, and skills development to help these boys grasp and grow into the men of God they're meant to be. We will unpack the pillars of being a real man: rejecting passivity, accepting responsibility, leading courageously, and expecting a greater reward.
Our theme is based on 1 Corinthians 16:13-14. “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.”
The fundamentals of wrestling include basic skills, drills, and techniques in a fun and positive environment. Our practices are focused on more than just wrestling; we aim to create a supportive and encouraging space for your boys. Wrestling is a unique sport because it teaches values that last a lifetime. It builds character and teaches kids how to overcome obstacles and failure, handle emotions, respect authority, have a strong work ethic, discipline, resilience, accountability, and be a good teammate.
We will arrange some intersquad/internal competitions so the boys can showcase what they’ve learned.
Wrestling shoes are not necessary. Please bring plenty of water and socks.
