Schedule: Tuesday - Preschool A - 131: 10:00 am - 10:50 am
Description:This is an early reading comprehension class that uses the art of storytelling as a tool to engage the learner. Children are ready for this class if they are identifying and writing letters, connecting their sounds, are ready to start blending letters to make words, and ready to learn word families. Children who are starting to read my first reading books and level 1 books are a good fit for this class. Every week we will practice a new word family and 1 - 2 new sight words through the art of storytelling. We will learn storytelling terms such as plot, setting, protagonist, antagonist, major & minor characters, and the parts of a story: beginning, middle, end. If you have a creative storyteller at home who is ready to move on from identifying letters and sounds into blending sounds, this might be a good fit! Feel free to message me on slack with any questions.

Reason & Revelation Ages 15yrs-19yrs+ Ginn-Forsberg, River Fall 2025 Theology
- Bible
Schedule: Monday - Classroom - 224: 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm
Wednesday - Classroom - 224: 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm
Description:What is truth? Why are we here? How should we live? This course invites students into the adventure of thinking deeply about life’s biggest questions. We begin by exploring the universal questions all people face. Then, students will learn how to think clearly and critically—using tools like logic, the Socratic method, and Scripture. As we read from great thinkers like Plato, Saint Augustine, and C.S. Lewis, students will see how reason and faith are not opposed but work together in the pursuit of truth. They’ll learn to recognize patterns of thought, ask meaningful questions, and engage in thoughtful dialogue. As Proverbs 4:7 says, “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” This course is an invitation into that pursuit—an education of the mind and heart, rooted in the Truth. The course is taught from a Christian worldview and culminates in seeing how Jesus—the Logos—brings coherence, purpose, and meaning to the deepest longings of the human mind and heart.
Requirements:Students should be able to read and understand high school-level texts. They don’t need to be deep thinkers yet, but they should come ready to grow. This course invites them to read with care, reflect with sincerity, and wrestle with meaningful ideas. What matters most is a willing mind and heart. Each student will need to bring their own Bible to class, as Scripture readings will not be printed. Students should also come prepared with a notebook for note-taking and something to write with. A pen will be required for occasional in-class quizzes. As part of the supply fee, each student will receive a high-quality binder filled with printed readings, reflection worksheets, and carefully selected excerpts from classic texts. These materials are theirs to annotate, reflect on, and keep beyond the course. Students are expected to bring their binder to every class and keep it organized with the weekly materials provided.
