Teen Wrestling Ages 12yrs-18yrs Ernster, Matt Fall 2025 Physical Fitness
- General Fitness
Schedule: Monday - Mat Room - MAT: 12:00 pm - 12:50 pm
Description:Coach Matt's goal is to develop champions beyond the wrestling mat. He has a structured program based on values, commitment, and skills development to help these boys grasp and grow into the men of God they're meant to be. We will unpack the pillars of being a real man: rejecting passivity, accepting responsibility, leading courageously, and expecting a greater reward. Our theme is based on 1 Corinthians 16:13-14. “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.” The fundamentals of wrestling include basic skills, drills, and techniques in a fun and positive environment. Our practices are focused on more than just wrestling; we aim to create a supportive and encouraging space for your boys. Wrestling is a unique sport because it teaches values that last a lifetime. It builds character and teaches kids how to overcome obstacles and failure, handle emotions, respect authority, have a strong work ethic, discipline, resilience, accountability, and be a good teammate. We will arrange four intrasquad (internal) competitions so the boys can showcase what they’ve learned. Wrestling shoes are not necessary. Please bring plenty of water and socks.

The Art of Slow Stitching 1 Ages 10yrs-14yrs Hills, Kelly Spring 2025 Arts
- Sewing
Schedule: Monday - Art Studio - 129: 3:00 pm - 3:50 pm
Description:Slow stitching is a textile art. This is a mindful, creative and ancient practice of using needle and thread, ribbon, lace, buttons, paper, sequins, etc. to create art on fabric. It's a form of hand stitching that can involve a variety of techniques such as patchwork, embroidery and creating circles. This stitching differs from traditional stitching used for mending and making garments because the process is more important than the end result. But skills learned can be used for those things down the road. The goal is to be present and in the moment, listening to your creativity, and allowing your hands to flow across the fabric. This can be good for mental health, calming and focus.  This is a great class for both boys and girls to create art using recycled and untraditional mediums. Each child will get their own starter stitching kit to bring home once class is over. This will be a "go at your own pace" type of class. The students can take their time on one or multiple pieces over the 16 weeks.
Requirements:Each child must be mature enough to follow directions and be very careful using sharp objects like scissors and needles.
