Students then move to stations. Stations generally include an art project, math/science activity, and sensory bin. To end class, we come back to circle and students “share” with the class what they made or did that day!

Description:
Join us as we play, act, dance, and sing! Jump into a magical land of make believe with a special script written by and for your young performers!In this class we will take well known stories of Frog and Toad and add a bit of humor as we turn them into a script! Children develop confidence as they get their first glimpse of the joy of theater. Your young actors will learn theater vocabulary and develop their stage presence through games and practice. Wear costumes, play with props, and have all sorts of fun as we prepare for our big show!
Parents are asked to help with memorization by practicing lines with their young actors at home. Students will get to show off what they have learned in front of an audience at The Main Stage Theatre Showcase April 27th! Invite your family and friends, admission is free. (Mandatory dress rehearsal April 26th.) Please note that this is an 11 week class, and will NOT continue after the showcase.

Fairytales and Tutus is a creative ballet class for children ages 3-6 years old, incorporating favorite children’s stories, enchanting costumes, colorful props, and the magic of make-believe! Each week, a new story will come to life though ballet instruction, creative movement, dancing games, colorful costumes, and plenty of imagination! Children will learn ballet basics such as pointing toes and walking gracefully like a royal princess. Students will strengthen their balance and coordination as they leap over a river or skip through a forest as a character in their favorite story! Boys and girls both welcome!! In this enchanting class, your child will experience such beloved stories as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Fancy Nancy, Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, and many more! Materials required for students to bring to class: Ballet Attire: Leotard, Tights, Ballet Slippers.. Hair must be pulled back off face and neck. Dancers will have the opportunity to share their dances at our Christmas and Spring Shows. The Spring Show is scheduled for May 21st and 22nd at 6:30 PM, with a dress rehearsal the evening before on May 20th at 6:30 PM.

Fairytales and Tutus is a creative ballet class for children, incorporating favorite children’s stories, various costumes, colorful props, and the enjoyment of make-believe! We have several new stories this semester and each week a new story will come to life through ballet instruction, creative movement, dancing games, colorful costumes, and plenty of imagination! Children will learn ballet basics and incorporate that technique in a dance as a character in our weekly story that they will perform for the parents at the end of each class. **Students will be performing in two performances for our Nutcracker presentation (December 5th-8th) as well as the Spring Dance Show “Moses and The God Who Delivers” (May 15th-18th). This Class will be in Show A. PLEASE READ our syllabus containing more details about the shows and pertinent dance class information is located here on our website. Click on Programs - Dance - Dance Department. Each semester’s Admin fee includes the show costume rental fee. **Parents may choose to have their student opt out of performing, but will need to communicate that with the teacher by October 1st.
