We will be using the Math U See Delta (yellow) book. Although this book will focus on division, it is a well rounded curriculum covering double digit multiplication, word problems, area, perimeter, double and triple digit addition and subtraction and more. It is absolutely critical that your student already has a strong foundation in multiplication.
In this class we will be practicing directed drawing using step by step instructions to create animals and objects in a beautiful picture/painting each week. Mediums will be Sharpie and watercolor. Join us for fun and creativity!

We will be using manipulative regularly in class to help the students visually see how numbers easily work together. Each student will have access to a weekly video they can watch before coming to class to help assist them in their understanding of the lesson.
Requirements:
Each student will need to have the Beta Math U See workbook book and test book (orange ones). Parent's signature are required on all student's weekly quizzes. All IEP students must be accompanied by a parent during each class.
This class is to teach any who are interested, and specifically to prep our theater students for our spring production. With all the changes that came with the new building, we are taking a different approach to theater this fall. This class will cover lessons we don't have time to teach when the focus is on the performance/ materials. We will touch on all the basics (this is good even for experienced individuals as a reminder!), as well as try some more challenging activities to get or actors to think outside the box, and pretend they are holding said box (i.e. "object work")! We will practice our skills with games, exercises, excerpts of scenes, performing in front of peers, and more!
Please note this is a safe place to try out acting for the first time, however every student needs to want to be there because acting is a very vulnerable experience, and having students that are negative or unwilling to participate can hinder other actors from learning.
There will be a performance that we will charge $5 admission to cover the cost of scripts.
Requirements:
Must be willing to participate in activities that might seem silly or embarrassing but are ultimately to grow the student into a better actor!
This is a hybrid drawing and handwriting class for young students between the ages of 6-10*. Using both Draw•Write•Now and Getty-Dubay® Italic Handwriting Series, students will enjoy an in-person studio class and an additional short weekly video from the comfort of home. The in-person studio class will be devoted mostly to a weekly drawing focus, while the online video will be focused on learning italic-style handwriting - a lovely, stylish, and easy-to-read method. This handwriting course begins with basic italic and a gradual introduction to italic cursive for the first semester, then transitions to italic cursive during the second semester. For the drawing portion in Fall Semester, students will be using Book 1, On The Farm, Kids And Critters, Storybook Characters. The main goal is to develop fine motor skills in drawing and handwriting strokes, and have fun doing it!
This is ideally a year-long course. Please note that students will be expected to watch a video (assigned most weeks) and also spend a minimum of 15 minutes on daily handwriting practice. *(age is flexible, and at the parent’s and teacher’s discretion)
Requirements:
Students will be required to have Book D of the Getty-Dubay handwriting curriculum in order to be in compliance with the publisher's requirements. Miss Lucinda will also provide a student notebook for handwriting and drawing that will be specifically made for this class. A book fee of $25 per student is listed for the books and the use of necessary art supplies. All books and supplies will be provided during the first class.
** Supply & teacher payments are due August 28th. Families must respond to Groupzu invoices by this deadline to keep their standing in the class.**

This class will focus on how to draw a person's face and completely clothed body. We will work on ways to show human emotion through facial expression and body language poses. We will learn what people look like when we are talking with each other. We will investigate what colors and type of clothes work best to showcase the wonder of God's creation. Students will be encouraged to complete several drawings suitable for their Artist Portfolio.
People are created in the image of God. Students will be encouraged to appreciate the wonder of His creation. Students will learn how to show the outside and inside of a person.
* A limited number of scholarships are available to families experiencing financial hardship. Please contact Tom Snyder for more information.
Requirements:
To learn to draw well requires perseverance and hard work. I will encourage and support students with all the energy God gives me.
This is a Part II continuation of the Drawing, Color & Originality class. Part 1 is not a prerequisite! Classes are designed to revisit the structure and concepts learned in Part 1, with all new projects! We will continue to cover important foundational elements of a successful painting as we refer to famous paintings created by the Masters, as well as a few contemporary artists. We will use directed drawing in many projects to learn how to “see” the world as an artist, breaking complex objects into simple shapes. Emphasis will be placed on “loosening up;” placing less energy on perfected realism, and celebrating the “imperfect” mark making that contributes to an interesting painting and design. We will cover drawing and painting technique, with wide exposure to multiple mediums such as Sharpie, oil pastel, soft pastel, collage, watercolor, tempura and marker. Just as each of our signatures reflect our own unique style, so does our artwork! We will correlate this concept to a marveling at God’s gift in creating each of us as an original masterpiece, each with our own unique gifts and strengths that we were given to bring beauty into this world. Students will complete several bold, beautiful projects throughout the semester, each project taking 2-3 sessions to complete.
Due to the nature of multiple-session projects, it is important your student attends as many classes as possible. Please send students in clothes that can get messy so they can feel free to create!
Ages 7-12
