Description:Fairytales and Tutus is a creative ballet class for children, incorporating favorite children’s stories, various costumes, colorful props, and the enjoyment of make-believe! We have several new stories this semester and each week a new story will come to life through ballet instruction, creative movement, dancing games, colorful costumes, and plenty of imagination! Children will learn ballet basics and incorporate that technique in a dance as a character in our weekly story that they will perform for the parents at the end of each class. **Students will be performing in two performances for our Nutcracker presentation (December 5th-8th) as well as the Spring Dance Show “Moses and The God Who Delivers” (May 15th-18th). This Class will be in Show A. PLEASE READ our syllabus containing more details about the shows and pertinent dance class information is located here on our website. Each semester’s Admin fee includes the show costume rental fee. **Parents may choose to have their student opt out of performing, but will need to communicate that with the teacher by October 1st. Description:Faith & Foundations is designed to nurture young learners through a joyful blend of early childhood education and biblical truth. Each week combines hands-on learning experiences with engaging Bible lessons to create meaningful opportunities for growth in both faith and academics. In this class we will strengthen important readiness skills including letter and number recognition, colors, shapes, fine motor development, listening, following directions, and social interaction. This is the perfect class to help little learners grow in knowledge, confidence, and faith as they build strong foundations for future learning.

Description:In this fashion illustration class creativity meets purpose. Students will learn foundational drawing skills, how to draw different fabrics, fashion design concepts and will develop their own artistic style all while discovering how to use their talents to honor God. Each class weaves together hands-on illustration practice with biblical truth, encouraging students to create designs that reflect beauty, modesty, and excellence. Students will gain confidence in drawing fashion figures, designing outfits and expressing creativity in a way that glorifies the Lord. The final week, students will present an illustrated collection to the class. This is perfect for young artists who love fashion and want to grow their skills while keeping Christ at the center of their creativity.
Requirements:Students should be able to listen to directions, be self motivated to create their own designs after instructions are given, and be able to receive constructive feedback.

Fiber Arts Ages 10yrs-19yrs+ Alison, Otonya Fall 2026 Arts

Schedule: Tuesday - Classroom - 228: 12:30 pm - 1:50 pm
Description:In this fascinating class, we'll begin with a raw, unwashed (sheep) fleece, learn how to pick and scour the wool, card and comb the fiber (using a drum carder, hand cards, and wool combs), dye the wool, play with color combinations on a blending board, spin the wool (using both drop spindles and a spinning wheel) into usable yarn, wash and set the yarn, and learn basic weaving techniques on a rigid heddle loom, using the yarn the students made. This is such a fun, immersive, hands-on class that my students have all been eager to return to and participate in each week! Adults are welcome and invited!
Requirements:Interest in the subject matter and reasonably good fine motor skills. Feel free to ask me if you have further questions.

Description:Purpose: To teach the basics of Human form drawing in the comic/cartooning media. Philosophy of Art: Art is an opportunity to connect with our Creator through the creative process. Art is not only a personal expression, but one to be shared, evaluated, and experienced.
Requirements:This class does not require any previous skill level or knowledge of drawing, just a desire to learn how to draw comic book art or cartooning of the Human form. Students will be required to participate in Art critiques and weekly homework. All grading will be based on attendance, weekly homework, participation, and the final project.

Description:This is the middle school version of the popular "BizTown" class. We will cover financial literacy - budgeting, saving, investing, credit, debt, and risk management. We will also explore careers by looking at different career paths and understanding the connection between education, career choices and income. In class we will go through real world scenarios, allowing students to make financial decisions. *This class will attend a simulation field trip on November 14 in Hillsboro. Students will assigned a "persona" with a specific career, income, and family situation. In the simulation they'll be making decisions about housing, transportation, food, utilities, and other expenses, while trying to balance their budget.*

Description:This class is the middle school version of our popular “BizTown” experience, designed to help students build practical life and money-management skills. Students will explore key financial literacy topics including budgeting, saving, investing, credit, debt, and risk management. We’ll also learn about a variety of career paths and examine how education, career choices, and income are all connected. Through hands-on activities and real-world scenarios, students will practice making financial decisions and thinking through everyday challenges. As part of the class, students will participate in an interactive simulation in class. Each student will be assigned a unique persona with a specific career, income, and family situation. During the simulation, they’ll make decisions about housing, transportation, food, utilities, and other living expenses while working to balance their budget and manage their finances responsibly. This class gives students a fun and realistic introduction to money management and helps prepare them for real-world decision-making.
