- Sports
Schedule: Monday - Gymnasium - GYM: 4:00 pm - 4:50 pm
Description:Mashoonga! is a fast-paced padded saber combat game fought in multiple rounds. Throughout this class we will focus on integrity, sportsmanship, and swordplay. During the duration of the semester, we will learn the basics of Mashoonga! play group games, and organize at least one tournament in which students will have the opportunity to compete against each other for ultimate supremacy. Enjoyment is optional. Pain is guaranteed. Victory is earned. In order for students to participate, a parental release form must be signed and kept on record.. Every effort will be made to keep kids safe, but there are inherent risks involved. Any student who fails to obey all safety rules will be removed from the class. In the past, I have had issues with some students being too aggressive and breaking multiple sabers. The sabers are expensive. I'd like to be able to send a saber home with each student at the end of the semester, but if a student breaks more than one saber in the class, they will not receive one to take home. If there are extra sabers at the end of the semester, students may be offered an opportunity to purchase one for $15 on a first-come-first-served basis.
