Description:Beginner lyrical class for ages 8-11. Students will learn to dance with expression and artistry, using differing emotions and styles of music. Previous dance experience is required - students need to have taken a ballet class for at least one year. Student’s basic dance skills will be strengthened and they will be stretched to explore dance as an art and means of communicating ideas. This is a year-long program and requires a full-year commitment. This class will be performing in one of our Christmas Shows the weekend of December 10-12 and in our Spring Dance Recital May 20-23. More details to come. Please read our Dance Department Syllabus that is attached to this class for more pertinent class and department information. A $25 costume fee will be included in the Spring Semester’s Admin Fee.
Requirements:One year of ballet or jazz. Students should wear loose-fitting clothes or ballet clothes, lyrical or ballet shoes and their hair pulled back away from their face.

Description:Lyrical Upper Level 1 (Previously Lyrical 1 Teen) - Students will learn to dance with expression and artistry, using differing emotions and styles of music. Previous dance experience is required. Students need to have taken a class such as ballet, tap or hip hop jazz for at least one year. Student’s basic dance skills will be strengthened and they will be stretched to explore dance as an art and means of communicating ideas. We will be dancing with props including scarves or ribbons. Students should wear loose-fitting clothes, ballet, jazz, or lyrical shoes and their hair pulled back away from their face. This is a yearlong class and students will be performing in two performances for our Spring Dance Show “For Such A Time As This” . Dress Rehearsal and Shows are April 23-26. Description:Lyrical Contemporary Upper Level 3 - (Previously Advanced Lyrical & Contemporary) Step into a deeper level of artistry with our advanced lyrical and contemporary class. This year-long program is designed for experienced dancers ready to refine their technique while exploring dance as a powerful form of emotional and artistic expression. Dancers will learn to interpret movement with intention—telling stories and conveying emotions through style, flow, and musicality. The class encourages versatility, helping students embody a wide range of movement qualities and emotional tones. Training will focus on spatial and body awareness, floor work, proper alignment, efficient muscle use, and dynamic movement. We’ll also explore the expressive use of body weight and breath. Students will have opportunities to choreograph and contribute creatively to class performances. Proper dance attire is required, along with ballet or lyrical shoes. Hair should be pulled back from the face, and dancers should bring a labeled water bottle to each class. This is a yearlong class and students will be performing in all four performances for our Spring Dance Show “For Such A Time As This” . Dress Rehearsal and Shows are April 23-26.
