This is a CORE class that meets twice a week for the full year. CORE classes have greater expectations of students, parents, and teachers. Parents are required to attend the mandatory CORE Classes Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 26th at 6:45pm or August 28th at 2:45pm. This course continues building on the foundation laid in Spanish 1. Students will review and strengthen their understanding of verb conjugations and reinforce irregular verbs introduced at the end of Year 1. The primary focus in Year 2 will be on mastering the past tense, deepening knowledge of Spanish grammar, and expanding vocabulary for everyday conversation.
Class time will be dedicated to reviewing textbook lessons, practicing speaking and listening, and participating in fun, interactive activities designed to reinforce learning and build confidence. Because much of the learning happens through group practice and guided conversation, consistent attendance is essential.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: Students must bring the ABEKA Spanish 1, Volume 2 student book to every class. By the second semester, an additional textbook may be required. A 3-ring binder with notebook paper is required to organize notes, handouts, and reference materials. Students should also have pens in black, blue, and red ink.
Concurrent enrollment in the Spanish Conversation class is highly recommended and encouraged to reinforce vocabulary.

In this class students will learn how to converse in Spanish fluently. We will meet once a week and students will be paired up with someone on their same Spanish comprehension level. Every week we will have different topics to speak about and there will be some Spanish games thrown in the mix as well. There will be no English speaking in this class and you must have taken at least one Spanish class prior to enrolling.
This is a year long class and in this class we will be learning 4 different vocabulary words each week and will work with our words in various ways in order to retain our knowledge of the words as well as learn how to spell them. We will play spelling games, have spelling team competitions and the last day of class we will have a Spelling Bee with prizes for the top 3 spellers.

Let's learn more about our beautiful USA!!! In this class we will look in depth at each region of our states with the goal of learning about all of the 50 states. We will also work on memorizing the states locations and capitals as will as some US History. Each student will be assigned a state that they will do an in-depth report on and put together a table display for our States Fair on the last day of class in our room.
Requirements:
Reading at fourth grade level, ability to write a paragraph, (typed is fine), and the willingness to do work outside the class time.
