Center Stage Jr: The Empty Pot Ages 5yrs-8yrs Noel, Amarra Fall 2025 Theater
- Production
Schedule: Wednesday - Auditorium - 002: 2:00 pm - 2:50 pm
Description:Welcome to our Drama Class for early elementary kids, Center Stage Jr.! This session, we’ll be adapting a children's book “The Empty Pot”, into a short play! The Story is based on an old Chinese fable about a boy named Ping who loved flowers and making them bloom. The Emperor loved flowers too. When it was time to choose a new heir, he gave a flower seed to each child in the kingdom. "Whoever can show me their best in a year's time," he proclaimed, "shall succeed me to the throne!". However, Ping's seed did not bloom. This story teaches about integrity and the value of being honest. Through theater games and fun exercises, your student will learn about the basics of acting and how to use imagination to bring characters to life. In this paired down performance, we’ll skip costumes and sets to focus on expression and storytelling. I’ll narrate while the children act out their scenes. We’ll wrap up with a small in class performance on the final day, creating an intimate experience for families in a cozy space so everyone can hear and enjoy. Looking forward to a fun journey into storytelling with all of you!
