Description:Welcome to ASL Level 2! In this class, students from the Sign Language For Beginners class are invited to dive deeper into conversation and communication in sign language. Anyone with experience in sign language, or a drive to be challenged into a new language, is also welcome. This class will be immersion (which means no talking), so students are required to know how to read in order to learn the words written on the board. Parents are also welcome to sit in. Practice by students outside of class is dependent on the student and their parents.

Anatomy & Physiology Ages 15yrs-18yrs Ringnalda, Andrew Spring 2022 Science

Description:High school students who have completed basic biology and/or who have any interest at all in any type of health-care career will be ahead of the game by joining us for Anatomy & Physiology. We will use Apologia’s Advanced Biology for our text. Students will also need an anatomy coloring book (they use these in universities and medical schools). We will be using the Anatomy Coloring Book, 4th edition, by Wynn Kapit. Students will also need a set of quality colored pencils. Class time will be spent reviewing anatomy and systems and performing various physiology labs. More information will be sent regarding texts and materials after registration. This is a full-year course intended to satisfy a student’s high school science credit requirements. Bring colored pencils. Homework: 5+ hours/week

Description:Let's explore the wonderful part of creation - Animals!! Students will learn about many different animals throughout the term including jungle animals, farm animals, and insects. Class will include a circle time with stories, songs, and movement. Children will have time to rotate through a variety of learning stations which include art, letters, numbers, and science. Kids learn best when they are moving, playing, and exploring the world around them!

Description:This is a CORE class that meets twice a week for the full year. CORE classes have greater expectations of students, parents, and teachers. Parents are required to attend the mandatory CORE Classes Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 26th at 6:45pm or August 28th at 2:45pm. High school students who have completed basic biology and have any interest at all in any type of health-care career (any and all aspects of medicine, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy, EMT/paramedic, medical tech, medical or dental assisting, PA, NP, midwifery, naturopathy, acupuncture, dental hygiene, etc.) will be ahead of the game by joining us for Anatomy & Physiology. We will use Apologia’s Advanced Biology for our text. Students will also need an anatomy coloring book (they use these in universities and medical schools). We will be using the Anatomy Coloring Book, 4th edition, by Wynn Kapit. Students will also need a set of quality colored pencils. Class time will be spent reviewing anatomy and systems and performing various physiology labs. We will also perform a more extensive dissection of the fetal pig than we did in General Biology, as well as dissections of the cow eye, sheep brain, and sheep heart. More information will be sent regarding texts and materials after registration. This is a full-year science class. Instructor will administer and correct tests and keep grade records.
Requirements:Students should have taken General biology before registering for this course. Students must purchase Apologia’s Advanced Biology book, the Anatomy Coloring Book 4th edition by Wynn Kapit, and a set of quality colored pencils.

This class is intended for high-school students who need to begin earning lab science credits. We will be using the Apologia Biology, 3rd Edition text. Apologia courses are designed to be self-directed learning, so students should be prepared to spend at least an hour each day studying the material. The course is divided into a review session on Mondays and the accompanying lab on Wednesdays. The teacher's fee is for both the review and the lab. The review session is to hold students accountable for getting the work done in a timely manner as well as cover difficult concepts that students often have difficulty understanding. Two weeks are being allotted for each module. Students are expected to keep up with the readings and come to lab prepared.
