Description:Hey everyone! I'm Zach and I own a custom woodworking business in Vancouver called Ashes To Beauty Woodworking making furniture and rustic home decor from reclaimed wood and live edge wood (www.ashestobeautynw.com). Welcome to the raddest woodworking class for young ones in town! Below is a layout of what this class will be all about. This will be for ages 7-11yrs old and during the span of this class, we will be making a rad toy/storage box out of reclaimed wood with a carrying handle on top and a buckle latch to keep it closed also we will be making a rad chalkboard with a reclaimed shiplap frame! Practical items that can be taken home and used on a daily basis while learning woodworking skills that they can hold on to for years to come! What will the kids be learning about in this class? - Different types of wood - Different purposes for the different types of wood - Basic woodworking tools and their uses - How to make straight cuts - Gluing wood (the proper way) - Painting wood - Lots about sanding and the different coarse grits of sandpaper - What to seal/finish your project with My goal is to teach practical skills that can be carried on through the years of growing up whether they do woodworking as a profession when they get older or just be able to use it as a hobby. Also, I want to inspire future woodworkers to chase their dreams if they have that desire to do woodworking as a profession when they grow up. So come with an eagerness to have lots of fun and be ready to get a little dusty as we take a journey into Woodworking 101!

Description:A complete English language course featuring phonics, writing, spelling, and reading. There will be required homework each week. I homeschooled 8 children as well as pursued additional teacher training. I love to see kids make progress in academics and so I present the class in a fun & engaging manner. Each child will be able to progress from their own, individual ability to higher levels. We will cover what God has to say about writing and character traits and how we should use our best efforts at improving communication skills.
Requirements:Please bring for each child a three ring binder w/ tab dividers, notebook paper with line sizing customized for your child, and pens in black, blue, and red ink.
