"I will remember the works of the Lord. Yes, I will remember the amazing things you did long ago." -Psalm 77:11
"Thus the sons of Israel did not remember the Lord their God, who had delivered them from the hands of all their enemies on every side" -Judges 8:34.
Throughout history, the fate of God’s people often depended on their memory. Not of the periodic table or even of Scripture as knowledge alone.
But what mattered was whether His people chose to REMEMBER what He had done for them. When we actively live in the remembrance of what He has done in our lives, we remember who He is and live accordingly.
In this class, we will explore the significance of remembering what He has done, examine what we can learn from His works in the lives of many Biblical characters and learn how to cultivate that remembering in our own covenant relationship with our Creator and Savior.
The lives of Moses, David, Gideon, Esther (and more) - all ordinary people made in the extraordinary image of God like you and me - hold valuable clues to understanding God’s promises for us. We can learn from their triumphs and mistakes.
Reflecting together on these Biblical passages will illuminate God’s heart will unlock fresh insights on important topics like identity, fear, covenant relationship, worldview, God’s guidance for our lives and more.
I hope you’ll join me
