Drawing, Color, & Originality III Ages 7yrs-12yrs Ganji, Elizabeth Fall 2023 Arts
- Multi Media
Schedule: Monday - Art Studio - 129: 1:00 pm - 2:20 pm
Description:New Projects! Though this is a Part III continuation of the Drawing, Color & Originality class, Parts 1 & 2 are NOT a prerequisite! Please join us! Classes are designed to revisit many of the concepts and structure from Parts I & II, with new material. This class will continue to touch on important foundational elements of a successful drawing or painting as we periodically refer to works created by master and contemporary artists, putting our hand to fresh new artful experiences. We will move together, using directed drawing in many projects to learn how to “see” the world as an artist, breaking complex objects into simple shapes. It is helpful to prepare your student in knowing the emphasis in this class will be placed on “loosening up;” placing less energy in obtaining perfected realism, and more focus in celebrating the fresh and “imperfect” mark making that contributes to an interesting painting and design. If your student is open to following along with directions to reach a beautiful and unique end result they can be proud of, this is the class for them! I will draw from my background as a professional painter to weave art concepts through projects with the use of multiple mediums such as Sharpie, marker, tempura, oil pastel, watercolor and even printmaking! This class is intended to be a wonderful respite woven into the busy week, designed for the young artist to slow down, mindfully observing details commonly overlooked, and marveling at intricacies of creation. Just as each of our signatures reflect our own unique style, so does our artwork! We will correlate this concept to a marveling at God’s gift in creating each of us as an original masterpiece, each with our own unique gifts and strengths that we were given to experience and contribute beauty in this world. Students will complete several bold, beautiful projects throughout the semester, each taking more than one session to complete. **Please note class duration will be 80 minutes.** Due to the nature of multiple-session projects, it is important your student attends as many classes as possible. Please send students in clothes that can get messy so they can feel free to create! Ages 7-12+

Preschool Playgroup A Ages 3yrs-5yrs Brand, Alexis Fall 2024 Early Education
Schedule: Monday - Preschool A - 131: 10:00 am - 11:20 am
Description:Albert Einstein said, "Play is the highest form of intelligence." More and more studies are showing the importance of play not just to support healthy social emotional skills but cognitive brain development and I would add a child's spiritual health as well. The wonder of God is so tangible to a child and my aim is to create a space that nurtures and supports a child's natural awe and curiosity. We will begin our class with a fun and engaging circle time that introduces a new social emotional skill we will be working on during our choice time. Children will then choose from various play stations prepared in the room for them to do what children naturally do best: imaginative & creative play. I utilize resources from Second Steps Early Learning Curriculum & the Zones of Regulation material that supports social emotional intelligence. Our class time is purposefully a little longer than most classes so that we can provide sufficient time for children to engage in play, create, build, work through social conflicts, and practice problem solving. My background is in early childhood education, I was a Head Start teacher, children's pastor, I am a mom of 3 beautiful children, and most importantly I'm passionate about following God's lead in supporting what He already is doing in the lives of His children. I'd love to connect with you and your family.
Requirements:This class is for preschool age children between the ages of 3-5. Children must be 3 by the time of our first class.
