This is a hybrid drawing and handwriting class for young students between the ages of 6-10*. Using both Draw•Write•Now and Getty-Dubay® Italic Handwriting Series, students will enjoy an in-person studio class and an additional short weekly video from the comfort of home. The in-person studio class will be devoted mostly to a weekly drawing focus, while the online video will be focused on learning italic-style handwriting - a lovely, stylish, and easy-to-read method. This handwriting course begins with basic italic and a gradual introduction to italic cursive for the first semester, then transitions to italic cursive during the second semester. For the drawing portion in Fall Semester, students will be using Book 1, On The Farm, Kids And Critters, Storybook Characters. The main goal is to develop fine motor skills in drawing and handwriting strokes, and have fun doing it!
This is ideally a year-long course. Please note that students will be expected to watch a video (assigned most weeks) and also spend a minimum of 15 minutes on daily handwriting practice. *(age is flexible, and at the parent’s and teacher’s discretion)
