Physics is an applied math course that explains the physical laws guiding God's world. Topics will cover kinematics, forces, momentum, energy, fluids, thermodynamics, and more, all using a student-friendly text. This class is a good fit for students who enjoy math and science and are interested in a career in the STEM field. This is a full-year course intended to satisfy a student’s high school science credit requirements. Teacher will supplement the text content, administer labs, grade tests, and provide an overall course grade based on test scores, homework completion, and in-class participation. Parents will administer tests at home, sign off on all homework assignments, and maintain communication through Slack.
Requirements:
Students must have strong math skills - most physics problems involve solving for an unknown using multiple equations, unit conversions/dimensional analysis, and geometry concepts (sin, cos, tan). Math concepts will be taught in class and in the book but an underlying speed and accuracy with mathematics is vital. Prerequisites: Algebra 1/Geometry. Students must bring the textbook, a TI-36X Pro calculator (must be this specific calculator), a pencil, and spiral bound notebook to class. Materials fee includes the textbook provided by the teacher. Parents must sign off on all homework

This is a CORE class that meets twice a week for the full year. CORE classes have greater expectations of students, parents, and teachers. Parents are required to attend the mandatory CORE Classes Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 27th at 6:45pm or August 29th at 2:45pm. I’ve been teaching math for over 30 years now and just really enjoy working with the students. I use the Marco Polo app to help students with questions they need help with outside of class time. This curriculum covers: positive and negative numbers, exponents, expanded and exponential notation, roots and radicals, variables, geometric formulas, rations and proportions, polynomials, irrational numbers, square root formula, and more. It is very important that the student has a good understanding of: fractions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), along with decimals and percents.
Students will be required to watch a weekly math video on Google Classroom before coming to class each Monday.
Parents will be required to sign their students workbook and test book each week.
Requirements:
Good understanding of positive and negative numbers. Solid knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions. Experience with solving for a variable.

This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of PreCalculus/Trigonometry and its underlying concepts using the Math-U-See system. The curriculum will include both theory and application. This course will be appropriate for anyone who has successfully completed Algebra 2, and has a solid grasp of exponents, polynomials, variables, equations, and conic sections. Students taking the Pre-calculus course will learn the following skills: trigonometry; radians and polar coordinates; vectors, functions, and composites; logarithms; arithmetic and geometric series.
Requirements:
Students must have the Math-U-See Student Pack for Pre-calculus and a TI-36X Pro calculator ($20). In addition, a pad of graph paper, pencil(s) with eraser, a straightedge or ruler, and a protractor are required. Parents must sign each page of the lesson tests, which are due each Monday. Parents must also sign each page of the three unit tests, which are due on scheduled Mondays throughout the year.

I hope you are curious, because in this class we will discover a lot about God’s creation. Our topics for this year will be creation, the universe (stars, planets, rockets), Earth, rocks & minerals, weather, the plant kingdom, the animal kingdom, the human body and some physics, chemistry and dinosaur fun.
Kids will build interactive science notebooks and learn memory songs using "Considering God’s Creation" for our main text. Each lesson will include a variety of crafts & activities. Kids will use the scientific method for our experiments. We will also do biographies of godly scientists. “I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.” - George Washington Carver. Join me as we share this year-long class together to listen to God speak about His creation.
Requirements:
Kids do not need to be proficient readers/writers for this class. Students should be ready to write a few words each week (they can trace or copy from the board). Students will be encouraged to follow 3-step directions, work independently, ask for help if needed, take turns, and show kindness and respect to the teacher and fellow classmates.
About once a month I may have a take-home assignment for the kids to do and bring back.
Kids will keep an additional science notebook at home for optional Charlotte Mason-style nature studies during the week.

In order to fully grasp the language in a shorter amount of class time, the homework will be mandatory to help cement the ideas and further the language learning. Students will be expected to participate in class and stay on top of homework. If more then two homework assignments are missed, student may be dropped from the class without refund. Quizzes and tests will also be a regular occurrence within the class. Students should be able to study on their own, take homework seriously and put in effort while in class. Required texts: Abeka Spanish 1 from the Spanish Language Arts Series. $63.90 This is the NEW and improved book - please make sure you don't order the old version. Spanish 1 Oral Fluency Exercises. $26.40 These books can be found on Christianbook. com or the Abeka website itself. Parents are required to attend the mandatory CORE Classes Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 27th at 6:45pm or August 29th at 2:45pm. Year 2 continues on the foundation built in year 1. Students will review and expand on verb conjugations and reinforce irregulars in the present tense that were taught near the end of Spanish 1. The focus in year 2 will be on the past tense and expanding vocabulary for conversations. Class time will cover the book lessons, and practice speaking and listening, so attendance is vital. Additionally, fun activities will be used to make class lively and anchor lessons.
Requirements:
Basic understanding of Spanish verb conjugation and beginning conversation skills is required. One year of Spanish is ideal. Native speakers are welcome to study the grammar. Required materials: students must come to class with ABEKA Spanish 1 student book. By the end of the first semester students will need ABEKA Spanish level 2. Concurrent enrollment in Spanish conversation class is HIGHLY recommended and encouraged.
