Middle School Bible Study Ages 11yrs-13yrs Beutler, Dan Fall 2026 Theology
- Bible
Schedule: Wednesday - Classroom - 135: 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm
Description:Light Up Your Life! Psalm 119:105 tells us that the Bible is a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. When I go camping or hiking in the dark, I like to have a bright headlamp with fresh batteries that can shine a long way down the trail. The lamps of Biblical times were nothing like that. They might illuminate the next step or two but no further. Walking by such a lamp would mean constantly relying on it moment by moment. This is a true and excellent model for seeking God in the Scriptures. Daily time with God in His Word is the foundation to walking in His Kingdom will for our lives. This class is designed to build the skill of regularly, meaningfully embracing of the Scriptures to practical impact. There will be short assigned passages best read throughout the week, accompanied by questions for discussion. Then we will read the Word together in class and share our answers. Pretty simple! I plan to start in John, but hope to work in some Old Testament throughout the course of the semester as well. Like Peter said in John 6:68, we go to the Jesus and His Word because nowhere else can be found the Words of Eternal Life. I hope you’ll join me as we each learn about His path for our lives.

Middle School Choir
Middle School Choir
Ages 11yrs-14yrs Metz, Jonathan Fall 2026 Music
- Vocal
Schedule: Tuesday - Music Room - 117: 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm
Description:The Middle School Choir at FPHRC provides students already involved in music, or newly drawn to singing, (or both!), the irreplaceable opportunity to develop their talent by making engaging music with others, learning more about the value of music as an art form, and develop lasting friendships through a shared experience. I also believe it's important to emphasize that we have been given the gift of music from God, so that we may serve him as we sing for his glory, develop these talents, bless others with them, and enjoy them ourselves. Ensemble music-making is integral to the education of every musician, whether experienced or a beginner. They will not only learn how to better read and perform music, but learn about its many elements, gain a greater sense of artistry through a variety of styles, and develop collaborative skills that solo study doesn't offer. Students will sing music that is engaging, quality, beautiful, fun, and God-glorifying, even as they build lasting relationships with their peers. Finally, the Middle School choir seeks to seed in its singers a love for choir, not only preparing them for FP’s high school Concert Choir, but for those in college, church, and beyond!
Requirements:This is a year-long class, and students must be able to commit to both the Fall and Spring terms. Students must also be available for the mandatory dress rehearsal and concert nights during both terms. The Fall dress rehearsal will take place on Tuesday, December 15, 2026, in the evening after 5:00 p.m. (exact time TBD), and the Fall concert will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2026, in the evening after 5:00 p.m. (exact time TBD). The Spring dress rehearsal will take place on Tuesday, May 25, 2027, in the evening after 5:00 p.m. (exact time TBD), and the Spring concert will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2027, in the evening after 5:00 p.m. (exact time TBD).
