Thursday - Art Studio - 129: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Description:
This will be a week of exciting art exploration! Students will have opportunity to explore many different media and techniques, which may include (but are not limited to) watercolor paints, acrylic paints, oil paints, tempera paints, oven-bake clay, chalk and oil pastels, markers, paper making, collage, etc. (The precise curriculum for this camp is yet to be determined. It will be similar to previous camps I have led, but I will try not to repeat many of the same projects.) Most days, we will typically work on two activities each day. Students can expect to complete 6-8 pieces over the course of the week. We will take a snack break midway through each morning. I will provide snacks. They will typically include fruit, cheese, and crackers. If a student has a true allergy, they may bring their own snacks. Otherwise, for the sake of flow within the class, I ask that students do not bring outside food, unless cleared with me in advance. Students should bring their own water bottles. They should also wear older clothes, since some of the materials we'll be using will cause permanent stains!
Requirements:
Students should have an interest in art! An attitude of curiosity and willingness to learn new things will be helpful. They will need to be able to follow instructions, manipulate the materials (scissors, paper, paint, brushes, etc.), and focus on a single project for up to 90 minutes.
AUG. 5-8 Firmly Planted IGNITE summer camps all start with 30 minutes of group chapel followed by 2 1/2 hours of specialty camps designed to ignite your student's faith. Cost includes a camp t-shirt. During the course of this camp, we will create a variety of art works using a wide array of materials and techniques. These may include, but are not limited to: oil paints, watercolor paints, acrylic paints, liquid watercolors, paper clay, polymer clay, oil pastels, chalk pastels, collage, and/or foil embossing.
Please have students wear clothes that are appropriate for art activities--they may get stained or damaged.
We will take a short mid-morning snack break each day. I will provide snacks. Please have your students bring their own water bottles. (If your student has special dietary needs, please inform me. They may need to bring their own snacks.)
Requirements:
A willing attitude and desire to have fun while exploring the world of art!
