Does your child love pets and animals? Join Pet Pals Club! In this class we'll explore pets both common and obscure and how to care for them. We will learn through storybooks, crafts, Scripture, drawing, sensory activities, imaganitive play, and games. The kids will collect a "badge" each week for the animal we learn about.
Requirements:
Students must go to the restroom before class begins, parents need to be available on slack for any restroom needs during the class time
Take the mystery out of learning phonics & handwriting. This year-long class will use a multisensory/kinesthetic approach to introduce the short vowels sounds as your child begins to practice *reading & *writing CVC words (consonant/vowel/consonant, "mat"). Each week we will explore a new consonant letter for reading/phonics and proper letter formation, through the help of: puppets, songs, crafts, manipulatives, dress-up days, share days and snack days too.
Each little detective will be going through Explode the Code- Book 1 (I will provide). We will also be using corresponding Bob Book readers and Learning Without Tears concepts for our handwriting instruction.
Students will build a darling notebook of their projects and ETC pages to take home at the end of the year.
Requirements:
*Each child develops at a different rate. This class will focus on a playful, yet structured approach to get your child excited about learning. Kids are NOT required to read or write to join in the fun. Students will be
encouraged to follow 3-step directions, work independently, ask for help if needed, take turns and show kindness and respect to the teacher and fellow classmates.

Does teaching your child to read feel intimidating? Have no fear, this phonics course will provide the framework for transforming an early learner into a confident reader using the time-tested Spell to Write and Read method. Students will learn to decode the English language by introducing phonics-based spelling rules which form the foundation of the English language. The process of sounding out words, analyzing them and writing them down guides the student to develop analytic thinking skills needed for reading. This methodology incorporates four of the five senses, making it well suited for visual, auditory, vocal, and tactile learners. While this course targets ages 6-8, students at every age benefit from understanding the code the English language is written in. Games are integrated throughout to keep young students interested and engaged.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
• Say and neatly write a-z phonograms, identifying the sounds of each consonant and vowel while writing
• Identify the sounds of multi-letter phonograms
• Hear and count number of syllables in given words
• Hear, say, write and see (read) the 300 of 1000 most frequently used words in the English language (20 each week), analyzing each word to identify applicable spelling rules
• Produce a learning log of word lists, simple dictated sentences and spelling rules
• Enjoy reading stories in the classroom and look forward to reading at home
Requirements:
No prerequisites required.
Required Text: Red Learning Log- consumable workbook, 36 pgs., dotted half-lines for K-2 ($16)
Recommended Materials: 70 Basic Phonogram Cards, pencils (regular lead and red), 3-ring binder with notebook paper and a pencil pocket.

Requirements:
Prerequisite: The successful student will have print awareness, hold a pencil with a pincer grasp, write lowercase manuscript letters following conventional strokes (top down, left to right). Students must be able to participate in age appropriate activities involving listening and speaking including:
Speak clearly with volume appropriate to the setting.
Use agreed-upon rules for group discussions, i.e., look at and listen to the speaker, raise hand to speak, take turns, say “excuse me” or “please,” etc.
Ask questions to clarify conversations, directions, exercises, and/or classroom routines.
Carry on and participate in a conversation over four to five turns, staying on topic, initiating comments or responding to a partner’s comments, with either an adult or another child of the same age.
This course is designed to reinforce and practice concepts taught in Phonics Foundations I. The Spell to Write and Read framework transforms early learners into confident readers using the "hear, say, think, write, read" method. Students will continue learning to decode the English language by reinforcing phonemic awareness and introducing phonics-based spelling rules which form the foundation of the English language. The process of sounding out words, analyzing them and writing them down guides the student to develop analytic thinking skills needed for reading. This methodology incorporates four of the five senses, making it well suited for visual, auditory, vocal, and tactile learners. Attention to handwriting is emphasized.
Requirements:
Prerequisite: Students must be able to write the letters of the alphabet in lower-case manuscript. Ideally, students will have completed Phonics Foundations I, although this class is also suitable for students who know the basic 26 phonograms and have started reading.
Required Text: Red Learning Log- consumable workbook, 36 pgs., dotted half-lines for K-2 ($16) provided by teacher and included in the supply fee.
Recommended Materials: 70 Basic Phonogram Cards, pencils (regular lead and red), 3-ring binder with notebook paper and a pencil pocket. Parents of younger students are encouraged to attend with their early learners to help them get the most they can from the structured learning environment.
Secret Stories® is a brain-based approach to traditional phonics instruction that accelerates learner access to the reading and writing code. Secret Stories® provides the logical explanations for letter sound behavior that learners brains crave. These logical explanations are shared in the form of “secret” stories, which are the secret reasons WHY letters make all of the crazy sounds that they do when they get together in words. The “Secrets” work with any reading series or phonics program. Students will create their own collection of secret stories to keep as their reading guide.
Requirements:
To register students must know letter names and be familiar with letter sounds.
Mastering Photography: From Basics To Business. This comprehensive photography course is designed to take students from foundational camera knowledge to creating a professional photography portfolio and marketing themselves as creatives. It blends technical training, creative exploration, post-processing, and business strategies to equip students with the full toolkit needed for modern photography.
Requirements:
Lightroom Mobile (Free app)
Google Classroom
Cell phone or tablet for homework assignments
Pen and notebook
*Optional but preferred: Digital non-phone camera (DSLR, mirrorless, etc.) *2-3 Canon DSLR cameras will be provided for students to experiment with.

Description:
God with no hands is a beautiful Montessori telling of the beginning of our planet and the creation of physical science and chemistry. This class is lower elementary science content covering basic atomic structure, states of matter, properties of air and water. Every class will be FILLED with hands on active exploration of Gods margnificigant world. Students will learn to marvel at complexity, and brilliant synergy of this amazing gift we have been given.
This is a CORE class that meets twice a week for the full year. Parents are required to attend the mandatory Core Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 24th at 2pm, August 24th at 6pm, September 7th at 2pm, or September 7th at 6pm.
Physics is an applied math course that explains the physical laws guiding God's world. Topics will cover kinematics, forces, momentum, energy, fluids, thermodynamics, and more, all using a student-friendly text. This class is a good fit for students who enjoy math and science and are interested in a career in the STEM field. This is a full-year course intended to satisfy a student’s high school science credit requirements.
