Time-travel back to the Middle Ages and more with the Magic Treehouse book series.
We will read 8 MTH books together in class, over the course of this term.
Students get their own MTH journals to take “notes” (draw/write), collect “treasures”, mark their world maps and create historical timelines.
We will use a fun variety of projects to get excited about reading like: story mapping, book “reports”, putting on a play, design a book cover, dioramas, crafts & more. Each week we will highlight different aspects of literature like main characters, story setting, plot…etc.
Bonus: Kids will also build their own treehouses to create a class “Forest of Treehouses”.
"The treehouse started to spin. It spun faster and faster. Then everything was still. Absolutely still." :)
Requirements:
Kids are NOT required to read or write for this class, although there are plenty of opportunities for kids who are ready for that. You do NOT need to own/supply the MTH books for your child, but it would be great if they had their copy too.
Students are expected to be kind and respectful to the teacher and fellow classmates. Students should be ready to follow 3-step directions.
