This is a studio art class for children ages 9 through 12. Students will meet weekly with Miss Lucinda to learn basic skills and techniques in drawing, painting, clay, and various other media. There will also be a fun Christmas project for gift-giving. Along with learning to develop creativity, students will be introduced to master artists from various historical periods and the Seven Elements of Art. Please note that this class will be offered again in the Spring semester, featuring different artists and projects. The class can be taken throughout the entire school year, if desired, or by the semester. The class is a good fit for children who love hands-on projects and can also listen well and follow instructions.
This year-long studio class is for students who love art and would enjoy more time for projects. Some exposure to the Elements of Art would be helpful, but not required. Students will learn various techniques in drawing, painting, and printmaking. They will participate in group discussions about art and culture, meet guest artists, and participate in one field trip per semester.
This year-long traditional studio art course is designed for middle and high school students who appreciate having extra time to develop their artwork and build strong foundational skills. Students will have ample time to explore a variety of artistic media while learning techniques, creative problem-solving, and art vocabulary. During the fall semester students will spend approximately four weeks working with each of the following drawing media: (1) Graphite Pencil, (2) Pen, Ink, and Brush, (3) Colored Pencils and (4) Oil and Soft Pastels. During the spring semester students will continue their artistic journey by spending approximately four weeks exploring each of these media: (1) Watercolor Painting, (2) Acrylic Painting on Canvas, (3) Mixed Media and (4) Collage.
Throughout the year, students will learn foundational artistic concepts such as composition, value, color theory, perspective, texture, and design. Projects are designed to encourage both technical growth and creative expression while helping students develop confidence in their artistic abilities.
This course is an excellent fit for middle and high school students who desire to strengthen their art skills, learn a variety of techniques, expand their artistic vocabulary, and create a diverse portfolio of original artwork.

Students will develop both handbuilding and wheel throwing skills while growing in craftsmanship, creativity, and technical understanding within the ceramic studio. Projects may include functional pottery, sculpture, surface decoration, carving, slab construction, and wheel-thrown forms intended for both artistic exploration and practical use. Instruction includes demonstrations, guided projects, studio terminology, glazing techniques, and individualized support tailored to each student’s skill level. Returning students and experienced wheel throwers will be challenged with advanced projects and techniques. Each term introduces fresh new projects and creative challenges.

This class is a good fit for students who work well in a multi-sensory environment as the studio is alive with sights, smells and sounds, sometimes simultaneously; all while having their hands in lots of clay and water.

In this class we will be studying the sweet side of science. It will be a hands on science class about sugar integrating chemistry, biology, and nutrition. We will learn sugar’s chemical structure, its role as an energy source in living organisms, chemical effects in baking, and its health implications. Please note, while this class will teach moderation of sugar consumption, we will be tasting many of our experiments in class; it’s just too hard not to. Please consider your students diet when enrolling.

So many games to play! How do we choose? Here is a snapshot: Our time will be spent each day with child led games in a nurturing environment that will build endurance, coordination, agility, speed, strength, good sportsmanship, & teamwork. I always take game suggestions from the kids too!
Some favorites are dodgeball, basketball, pinball, capture the flag, spiderball, kickball, sharks, musical chairs, pickleball, four square, ultimate tag, and tug of war. Others will be designed with more new summertime competitions. Water balloon launching and monkey in the middle with water balloons are a crowd pleaser. As well as water balloon partner relays, and fastest time through an obstacle course on a team and individually is a favorite.
On the last day, I will make a treasure hunt with a cool surprise at the end. On sunny days, squirt guns along with a parachute filled with water balloons! Requirements:
Comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. Please bring a healthy snack and a water bottle with your child's name on it.
In a class like Dungeons and Dragons, Survival And Adventure Skills will teach you how to survive in the wilderness as we set the stage through a fictional scenario. Using only the supplies chosen at the beginning of the semester, students will learn everything there is to know about food and water sourcing, shelter building, and how to build a homestead from the ground up in this educational adventure on survival and bushcraft for beginners.
Don’t let the class name fool you—this isn’t PE or anything to do with weapons! This is a fun, engaging Bible class.
Students will explore both the Old and New Testaments, learn about the different books of the Bible and what they mean, and practice how to navigate the Bible and find passages quickly and confidently.
We’ll build these skills through “Sword Drills”—interactive games and activities that help students learn to look up specific Bible references with speed and confidence.
Throughout the class, students will also work on memorizing all the books of the Bible as well as a new Bible verse each week
This class is designed to help students grow in their knowledge of Scripture while making Bible learning active, memorable, and fun.
