Description:
This class is for those who have completed ballet 3 and have been given permission to move onto pointe. We will also continue barre work and center floor work in soft shoes. The second half of the year we will work on a basic recital dance that allows the pointe work to be shown off in an easy manner. Advanced soft shoe work will continue to take place and a recital dance will occur as well. You must also enroll in the dance conditioning class to coincide with this course or, if that doesn’t fit in your schedule, then a fitness class. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Ballet attire is required to attend class (pink tights, leotard, ballet slippers and pointe shoes) as well as hair pulled back in a bun. Admin fee includes costume fee. This class will be performing in all four performances (Show A and B) for our Nutcracker presentation (December 5th-8th) as well as the Spring Dance Show “Moses and The God Who Delivers” (May 15th-18th).. (We are adjusting some things that should enable students to invite more family and friends to enjoy the event. We are considering all young student and level one classes to be split among the performances, but also to offer more performances that will allow better viewing opportunities and parking.) Parental attendance to this meeting is mandatory in order to ensure clarity of information and the success of your dancer’s performance. Please read the updated class syllabus that is pinned to your class channel. Students taking multiple classes (or siblings) receive 25% off their second class taken with the same instructor. Description:
This class is designed for students who have completed Ballet 4 and are also enrolled in dance conditioning, strength and technique or a fitness class, if necessary for scheduling. Our focus will be on intermediate pointe work and building endurance, further developing the muscles needed to dance on pointe.
Dancing on pointe requires proper spine alignment, turnout from the hips, strong ankles, correct foot-pointing technique, and good balance. We will frequently discuss and concentrate on these aspects of pointe technique. Our goal for the year is to increase strength, enabling students to perform longer and more proficiently in pointe shoes.
This is a year-long commitment, and students are expected to attend for the entire duration. Ballet attire is mandatory: pink tights, a leotard, ballet slippers, and pointe shoes. Hair should be neatly pulled back into a bun.
Join us for a year of growth and mastery in your pointe shoes.
This is a yearlong class and students will be performing in all four performances (Show A and B) for our Nutcracker presentation (December 5th-8th). They will also be performing in the Spring Dance Show “Moses and The God Who Delivers” (May 15th-18th).
