In this course, we will examine the basics of the Christian faith to better understand why we believe what we believe. We will cover what doctrine and theology are, canonization of the Bible, the Trinity, and Jesus' life by using our Bibles, historical records, and church history to see what the true foundation for our faith is. We will also cover basic theological ideas by defining terms and explaining what they mean in a way that young believers can understand.
We will be using the Bible Doctrines curriculum by BJU Press and each student will need to purchase the student book. (It is found on christianbook.com)
*Note Understanding Your Faith 2 will be offered in the spring to cover the second half to the textbook. This class will be one term
Requirements:
Students should be at grade level, (9th), in reading and writing skills. The ability to write 2-3 page paper unassisted is also required.
