The Christmas Dance show will require minimal parent involvement. Christmas Dance Show Dress Rehearsal: 12/8; Christmas Dance Show Performances: 12/9 @6pm, 12/10 @1:30pm, and 12/10 @6:30pm (Child and Youth level dance classes will each be performing in only one show). The Spring Dance show will require significant parent involvement. Spring Dance Show Dress Rehearsal and Performances will be the week of 5/16-5/20. Our format will most likely be similar to our last spring show, with our youngest students performing in two of the four shows. Details will be related in full at our mandatory parent meeting to be held at 7pm on Monday, February 27th. Parental attendance to this meeting is essential in order to ensure clarity of information and the success of your dancer. Each family is required to have one parent volunteer to help in some way with the show. We will be stepping up the ballet instruction by adding in barre work and more difficult combinations. I look forward to helping your student become better at Ballet and work hard to achieve their goals! This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Students in this class will be performing in our wonderful Spring Dance Show that is focused on the life of Christ. This class will be performing in the Spring Dance Shows the week of May 16-22, final dates TBD. Details will be provided in full at our mandatory parent meeting to be held at 7pm on Monday, February 28th. (We are adjusting some things that should enable students to invite more family and friends to enjoy the event. We are considering all young student and level one classes to be split among the performances, but also to offer more performances that will allow better viewing opportunities and parking.) Parental attendance to this meeting is mandatory in order to ensure clarity of information and the success of your dancer’s performance. Please read the updated class syllabus that is pinned to your class channel. Students taking multiple classes (or siblings) receive 25% off their second class taken with the same instructor. Barre Skills – All basic barre positions and steps but adding in port a bras and by the end of the year – releves. Center Floor - Chasse, pique, single pirouette working towards double in fifth, arabesque, chasse sote, glissade, echappe, balance, assamble, changment, chasse tour jete, begin learning pique turns, and Pas de bouree ́. Ballet attire is required to attend class (pink tights, leotard, and ballet slippers) as well as hair pulled back in a bun. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. During our fall semester dancers will be practicing technique, form, posture and steps in combination.
