Lifting heavy weight safely, being able to control your body, building strength and muscle sets you up to live a long and healthy life. Barbell Basics is based off of the three powerlifting movements, squat, bench and dead lift. Learning to master the three powerlifting movements at a young age will set your kids up for long and healthy relationship with strength training.
Intro level to weight lifting. Learning how to do a barbell back squat, barbell dead lift and barbell bench press. Building strength and confidence in the weight room and in life. Bring water bottle and workout clothes
In this class, students will gain a basic knowledge of what makes a car go. We'll discuss engine components, drive train, fuel system, cooling system, running gear, brakes, electrical system, battery, charging, ignition, maintenance, and safety. Class consists of interactive lecture, occasional YouTube videos, and some hands-on object lessons. We will be referencing old engine maintenance manuals as well as the book "How Cars Work," by Tom Newton. Students are required to bring a notebook and pencil/pen to each class.

This class will be approximately 50% classroom where you will learn the theory and 50% shop where you will put the theory into action. The supply fee includes safety glasses, and misc supplies. Class time is divided approximately 50/50 between classroom instruction and hands-on shop experience. Students will first learn about each vehicle system in the classroom and then apply that knowledge by inspecting and working on vehicles in the shop.
