Description:In this class students will learn more complicated combinations, work to achieve their splits, assemble, double pirouettes, fuetes, hold arabesque in releve, use of correct arms and head, improved posture, strength, turn-out, balance, flexibility and coordination from the previous year. I look forward to seeing the progress that students will make throughout the year! This is a yearlong class and students will be performing in all four performances for our Spring Dance Show “Moses and The God Who Delivers” (May 15th-18th). This Class will be in Show A and B. Description:This class is for those who have completed ballet 2 and been approved by the teacher. We will be focusing on strong ballet technique, double turns, fouetté turns, difficult combinations, more upper body strength, as well as ankle and foot strength to prepare for moving up to the pointe class. I look forward to helping them continue in their ballet technique and grow in their love for ballet! Students are required to take a strength and conditioning class as well. We recommend Dance Conditioning, Ladies Cardio, Weights, Fun and Done, or a Teen Fitness class. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Ballet attire is required to attend class (pink tights, leotard, and ballet slippers) as well as hair pulled back in a bun. Students will be performing in a Winter Showcase on January 19th as well as the Spring Dance Show in May (16th-19th). Christmas Dance Show Dress Rehearsal: 12/8; Christmas Dance Show Performances: 12/9 @6pm, 12/10 @1:30pm, and 12/10 @6:30pm (Child and Youth level dance classes will each be performing in only one show). The Spring Dance show will require significant parent involvement. Spring Dance Show Dress Rehearsal and Performances will be the week of 5/16-5/20. Requirements:This class will be performing in the Spring Dance Shows the week of May 15-20. We are still working on our plans for the spring show, but please reserve that week now on your calendar. Our format will most likely be similar to our last spring show, with our youngest students performing in two of the four shows. Details will be related in full at our mandatory parent meeting to be held at 7pm on Monday, February 27th. Parental attendance to this meeting is essential in order to ensure clarity of information and the success of your dancer. Each family is required to have one parent volunteer to help in some way with the show. Description:This class is for those who have completed ballet 3 and have been given permission to move onto pointe. This will be a basic pointe level class while regular soft shoe ballet technique and dancing will still take place. We will spend the first half of the year learning how to stand, walk, and perform basic dance steps on pointe shoes with good technique. We will also continue barre work and center floor work in soft shoes. The second half of the year we will work on a basic recital dance that allows the pointe work to be shown off in an easy manner. Advanced soft shoe work will continue to take place and a recital dance will occur as well. You must also enroll in the dance conditioning class to coincide with this course or, if that doesn’t fit in your schedule, then a fitness class. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Ballet attire is required to attend class (pink tights, leotard, ballet slippers and pointe shoes) as well as hair pulled back in a bun. Admin fee includes costume fee. Description:This class is for those students who have completed ballet 3. We will be focusing on technique and adding in pointe shoe work. Please get fitted for pointe shoes over the summer and be ready with them the first week. We will work on them a little bit during each class and then continue with normal barre and floor work. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Students in this class will be performing in our wonderful Spring Dance Show that is focused on the life of Christ. This class will be performing in the Spring Dance Shows the week of May 16-22, final dates TBD. Details will be provided in full at our mandatory parent meeting to be held at 7pm on Monday, February 28th. (We are adjusting some things that should enable students to invite more family and friends to enjoy the event. We are considering all young student and level one classes to be split among the performances, but also to offer more performances that will allow better viewing opportunities and parking.) Parental attendance to this meeting is mandatory in order to ensure clarity of information and the success of your dancer’s performance. Please read the updated class syllabus that is pinned to your class channel. Students taking multiple classes (or siblings) receive 25% off their second class taken with the same instructor. Fees may be paid monthly or by semester. Costume fees for the Spring Show are due at Spring registration. (Estimated $25 to rent.) Wear clothes and shoes easy to dance in. Students are encouraged to stretch and practice what they learn in class at home a few minutes each day.
