Description:If your student is interested in photography, they will love this class! They will learn all about the basics of photography starting with the history and some cool old portraits. They will also learn about all things camera, including white balance and proper settings, explore the different types of photographers they can become, and enjoy some crafts, games & even the opportunity to practice photographing what they are learning.
Requirements:A digital camera: A DSLR, point and shoot or a phone camera or tablet. If a phone camera/tablet is used, there will be a $10 app that you will be required to download which allow the student more control over their settings. Please bring cameras to every class.

Description:In this class we will cover the basic concepts of electricity: voltage, ohms, amps, ohms law, symbols, using a volt meter, batteries, fuses, breakers, series / parallel circuits, magnetism, ac voltage, dc voltage, electrical components, relays, transformers, resistors, capacitors, diodes, and safety. Classes consists of interactive lecture, occasional YouTube videos, and hand-on object lessons. Students are expected to take good notes and have an understanding of basic math. A notebook and pencil/pen must be brought to each class. Homework: 30 minutes/wk

Description:Snap Circuits will be the primary hands-on learning tool in this class as students explore the exciting world of electricity and electrical safety. They will learn about magnetic fields, how electricity flows, and how to use a volt-ohm meter to test electrical components and how the flow of electrons interact with ac/dc voltages, series /parallel circuits, resistors, lamps, & motors. Through building and testing a variety of circuits, students will develop a deeper understanding of how electrons flow through the circuit while strengthening their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Requirements:Simple math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division. Student must be able to follow directions, and stay focused on instructions.

The students will learn how magnet fields work in electricity, how to use a volt-ohm-meter on electrical components, and how the flow of electrons interact with ac/dc voltages, series /parallel circuits, resistors, lamps, & motors. They will build circuits while understanding how electrons flow through the circuit and learn to problem solve.
