In this class, students will gain a basic knowledge of what makes a car go. We'll discuss engine components, drive train, fuel system, cooling system, running gear, brakes, electrical system, battery, charging, ignition, maintenance, and safety. Class consists of interactive lecture, occasional YouTube videos, and some hands-on object lessons. We will be referencing old engine maintenance manuals as well as the book "How Cars Work," by Tom Newton. Students are required to bring a notebook and pencil/pen to each class.
