In this class kids will learn about a new animal each week! Some weeks everyone will get a coloring page to fill out in class. Students will be encouraged to ask questions in class as they learn new information because they will learn not only all about new animals, but also have hands-on experience learning how to care for animals including: how to feed, hold, and clean up after the critters.
Animals will be handled in this class. If a student is being disrespectful or not paying attention to the animal safety rules, they will not be allowed to handle the animal that that week.
Requirements:
Each student will need to bring their own notebook and pen/pencil

Does your child love animals? Do they have some particularly beloved animals? Do they enjoy telling you all about their favorite critters?
In this class students will have a platform to share about their choice creature. Every student will have one or two class days when they can play teacher and present a report on one of their favorite animals.
As a class we will explore classification in the animal kingdom, habitats, ecosystems, food chain, “-vore“ classification, specialized adaptations and individual biology. We will be using fun engaging games and materials to support the extended in class learning on these subjects as they pertain to that day’s critter.
Each student will be responsible for 1-2 age/grade level animal “reports” completed at home with guided questions/format and presented in class.
I will teach the basic stitches used in crochet and how to combine them to make items such as: plushies, bags, hats, scarves, etc. After learning the basics, students will choose what items they would like to create.
• I have 14 years of experience in crochet and have taught classes in the art. I have a love for all fiber arts as well as to educate others. I have my own small business, making many crocheted items such as plushies, loveys, baby rattles, baby clothes, etc.
Requirements:
Students are expected to: sit, focus, and follow directions. • No previous knowledge or experience required •All materials provided.
In this intermediate class students will learn how to crochet boarders on a blanket and how to crochet an amagurumi stuffed frog*. To ensure everyone can pick out their own colors of fabric and yarn, there will be no supply fee and students will be required to obtain their own supplies. I will leave a list of what they will need for the class below.
Supplies Needed
- 1 yard of Anti Pill Fleece
-Yarn in your color choice (suggested yarn weight: 4) - this is for your blanket; you will need 1 skein
- 1 skein of Baby Bee Yarn in Mint Charm ,for your frog (you can find this yarn brand at Hobby Lobby)
-Crochet hooks (5mm and 4mm)
-Crochet (or blunted) needle for sewing in ends and attaching arms, legs etc. to your stuffy
-Scissors
I will provide the poly-fill, safety eyes, and a small amount of yarn for accent colors on your frog.
*If you do not wish to create a frog amigurumi you can still follow the same pattern and adjust the color and make ears for whatever animal you would like. e.g. You could make a bear or a bunny. Your imagination's the limit! You would have to find a suitable replacement yarn as the baby bee yarn comes in very limited colors. The baby bee yarn is category 5 and is a velvety consistency.
NOTE: If the class as a whole finishes these projects, we would continue with the same concepts and make other projects. Be prepared to purchase more yarn/fabric. If a student finishes the projects before the rest of the class, they are more than welcome to bring in other crochet projects they are working on and I'd be more than happy to help!
I hope you join us for a fun class crocheting together some fun, useful items to cherish for years to come!
Requirements:
Students are required to know basic stitches. Students who are under the age of the class age minimum, but would like to take the class and have prior crochet experience, must get approval from the teacher.
