Description:Decimals & Percents is a year long class that meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. This well rounded curriculum is the last book before Pre-algebra. It has a focus on decimals & percents but also includes: metric system, variables, basic geometric vocabulary, geometric shapes and formulas, probability, and more. It is very important that the student already understands addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions. **Each student will have access to a weekly video they will need to watch before coming to class each Monday.
Requirements:*Book requirement: Math U See Zeta student pack (purple book) **Student requirements: Watch video before coming to class on Mondays. Must have the Google Classroom app and Marco Polo app. Please complete all homework and tests, come to class on time. *** Parent requirements: WEEKLY signatures on Lesson E and test(s). Delight Directed Ceramics Ages 14yrs-19yrs+ Gregory, Tracy Fall 2023 Arts

Schedule: Wednesday - Ceramics Studio - 004: 2:00 pm - 3:50 pm
Description:This is a delight directed course for students who want more freedom exploring the medium of clay. Students are required to outline their own project objectives for the term. Students may check out books and magazines from our ever-growing library of Ceramic Literature, they will have free access to all the tools in the studio, including wheels, slab roller, hand building tools, etc. Students are expected to be fully responsible for set up and clean-up of their personal project as well. Project ideas: make a matching set of cups and saucers, practice throwing consistent size tumblers, sculpt garden art, create a wall hanging out of tiles. We will discuss a timeline for each project, the student will then be expected to work on their own during class. I will oversee their projects and check in with them weekly. I am on hand the entire class for questions, and inspiration.
Requirements:This class is a good fit for students who want the freedom to explore the ceramics medium as their curiosity leads them. Students need to practice self discipline and time management and be able to work independently.

Description:This is a year-long class. Students who are especially interested in learning and developing skills in graphic design (web, print, typography, and layout), interior design, drawing, painting, illustration, and sculpture will all benefit from this course. The class will be based on the Principles of Design (Balance, Unit, Variety, Emphasis, Movement, Pattern, and Proportion) which can be applied to nearly all creative disciplines. Students will learn about the Principles through presentations, worksheets, and hands-on projects they will complete in class. Some projects may need extra time at home, but that should be minimal.
Requirements:Ability to use sharp razor knives to cut cardstock and papers. Able to glue and assemble projects, Basic writing and drawing ability for this age group.
