Apologia Biology is intended for high-school students who need to begin earning lab science credits. We will be using Apologia's Biology, 3rd Edition text. Students should be prepared to spend at least an hour each day studying the material. The course is divided into an overview/review session on Mondays and the accompanying lab on Wednesdays. The teacher's fee covers both the overview/review and the lab. The overview sessions will cover concepts that students often have difficulty understanding, whereas the review sessions will cover the material in the study guides to help students prepare for the module tests. Two weeks are allotted for each module, plus we will have extra time to do several dissections not included in the text, culminating with a fetal pig dissection in the spring term. Students are expected to keep up with the readings and come to class prepared for the day's activities.
