Welcome to the Hip Hop Boys Crew, where energy meets rhythm and creativity flows! This dynamic class is designed specifically for boys ages 10 to 15 who are passionate about hip hop dance. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this engaging class will help you master the coolest moves! Learn choreography while getting a great workout. Come ready to learn and part of the crew! This is a yearlong class and students will be performing in all four performances (Show A and B) for our Spring Dance Show “Moses and The God Who Delivers” (May 15th-18th). Students will be immersed in all things equine. History, art, science, care, health practices. The scientific process of observation, measurement, hypothesis, data gathering, interpretation, analysis, and application are stressed. We will explore career opportunities as well as recreational uses of the horse. Learning activities are varied with a lot of hands on experiences. This is a learning through experience class that will have opportunities to learn outside of the classroom (additional cost may apply to field trips) Saddle up for a really fun class!
Horse crazy? Ready to use this interest to spur investigation, exploration, and creativity? We will cover equestrian sports, anatomy, showing, careers, breeds, horse behavior, care and much more. We will do fun art projects, find a favorite horse book, do a few short writing projects, hands on time with tack, and use videos to explore the world of horses. Giddy up!
Students will have an opportunity to learn outside of the classroom at the end of the term (additional cost will apply). This experience will include riding and grooming in a group setting. Date TBD.
The name says it all - in this class we will be performing all sorts of explosions and learning what it is that makes them go BANG! Each day will feature a new explosion including: bottle caps, soap, watermelon, volcanoes, and more. This class will be a whole lot of fun, but for safety reasons please be sure your students can pay attention in a classroom setting and follow directions well.
This class is designed teach classic ancient history through a biblical worldview. It is a one year class that will meet weekly. Students will learn the archaeological and historical evidence for the Scriptures. The bulk of the class will be spent learning how Israel and the Early Church interacted with and were impacted by major people groups in history. We will explore Mesopotamia, Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome.
I am a Washington State certificated teacher, who taught ancient history in a public middle school for eight years. (2013-2021). I also was a Biblical Studies major at Multnomah University. My teaching experience and education combined has equipped me to see history with a Christian worldview. I find it exciting to see what God has done in the past and knowing that helps us to trust his faithfulness today. My hope is to foster a deeper love of God and love of learning in students and help them see history on God's timeline.

This class is for high school Students grades 9-12. Students will need a notebook, pencil, highlighters, sticky notes, and their Bible. Google Classroom will be used for some assignments. Others will be submitted in person depending on the activity. There will be some homework so students can receive credit for their high school transcript.

Section 1: Reading to Write: Students will need to purchase Madeline l'Engle's, "A Wrinkle in Time." The book will be read mostly as homework with discussion questions (in class and at home). Students will produce an essay based on their reading. Basic essay skills will be taught as well in this section.
Section 2: Research Skills and Essay Writing: Students will write a research paper and learn how to properly cite sources (MLA format, in text and bibliography). Students will receive guidance on how to research effectively but will be granted choice in their topics (Center appropriate). Students are expected to use both print and digital sources. A presentation of the research will be given at the end of the unit.
Section 3: Public Speaking and Life Skills: The class will also cover public speaking. Students will do speech where they learn how to write cue cards and speak confidently. This class will also cover interview skills and basic resume writing.
