Description:
Level 1 and 2 Student’s dance skills will be strengthened and they will be stretched to explore dance as an art and means of communicating ideas. We may be dancing with props including ribbons and scarves. Students will work on their dance technique as well as learn creative methods of choreography. Students should wear loose-fitting clothes, ballet, jazz, or lyrical shoes and their hair pulled back away from their face. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Students will be performing in a Winter Showcase on January 19th as well as the Spring Dance Show in May (16th-19th). This class will be performing in the Spring Dance Shows the week of May 16-22, final dates TBD. Details will be provided in full at our mandatory parent meeting to be held at 7pm on Monday, February 28th. (We are adjusting some things that should enable students to invite more family and friends to enjoy the event. We are considering all young student and level one classes to be split among the performances, but also to offer more performances that will allow better viewing opportunities and parking.)
