Advanced Lyrical/Contemporary
Ages 11yrs-18yrs Cooper, Rene Spring 2025 Dance
- Lyrical
Schedule: Wednesday - Dance Studio A - 116: 2:00 pm - 2:50 pm
Description:This advanced lyrical and contemporary class is designed to elevate students' dance skills while continuing to explore dance as an art form and a means of expressing ideas. Dancers will be taught to interpret their movements with feeling, emotion, and style, learning to tell a story or create a visual representation of the song. I encourage versatility in expressions and the ability to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotions. The class focuses on spatial and body awareness, use of body weight, floor work, technique, efficient muscle usage, musicality, and safe body alignment. Dancers will also have opportunities to work on their own choreography to contribute to the performances. Please wear appropriate dance attire and ballet or lyrical shoes, with hair pulled back from your face. Bring a labeled water bottle to class. This is a yearlong class and students will be performing in all four performances for our Spring Dance Show “Moses and The God Who Delivers” (May 15th-18th). This Class will be in Show A and B. PLEASE READ our syllabus containing more details about the shows and pertinent dance class information is located here on our website. Click on Programs - Dance. Mandatory parent meeting 7pm 2/24.
