We will learn about gardening basics and various plants through stories, games and art projects.
This class is in a Seedlings Co-op track. Each track consists of two classes (Block A and B). By registering for this class, your child will automatically be registered for both blocks. Parents are required to help in a class during one of the two blocks. YOU MUST REGISTER YOURSELF IN THE CLASS/BLOCK YOU WISH TO HELP IN. Helper spots are first come, first served. For more information on Seedlings visit www.fphrc.org/seedlings
This is a CORE class that meets once a week for the full year. Parents are required to attend the mandatory Core Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 24th at 2pm, August 24th at 6pm, September 7th at 2pm, or September 7th at 6pm.
This course curriculum was developed by the teacher based on student feedback from previous texts - content falls somewhere between Friendly Chemistry and Apologia Chemistry. Fall term will focus on a thorough understanding of atoms, molecules, and the periodic table, while spring term will apply stoichiometry to various chemical principles. This is a full-year course intended to satisfy a student’s high school science credit requirements and must be taken alongside Mr. Ringnalda's chemistry lab (you will automatically be enrolled in both at the time of registration). Teacher will supplement the text content, administer labs, grade tests, and provide an overall course grade based on test scores, homework completion, and in-class participation. Parents will administer tests at home, sign off on all homework assignments, and maintain communication through Slack.
Requirements:
Students must have passed Algebra 1 with a B or better (contact the teacher prior to registration if this is a concern) - many chemistry problems involve solving for an unknown, unit conversions/dimensional analysis, and simplifying exponents. Students must bring the textbook, a calculator WITH DISPLAY (such as: https://www.amazon.com/Texas-Instruments-Engineering-Scientific-Calculator/dp/B004NB[…]4894100&sprefix=graphing%2Bcalculato%2Caps%2C244&sr=8-14&th=1), a pencil, a highlighter, post-its or other sticky bookmarks, and a spiral bound notebook with pocket folder to class. Materials fee includes the textbook provided by the teacher. Parents must sign off on weekly homework assignments and electronically input scores for supplementary problems once per chapter (10 chapters).
Students will develop understanding of a safe and effective workout in a fun and encouraging environment. Each class builds on the last class to improve agility, strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility. Join Miss Kristin, (AFAA-Aerobics, and Fitness Association of America), Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Together we will work through obstacle courses, body weight strength training, basic sports movements, interval training, and some fun self defense moves. Practicing skills at home will be encouraged. Many new and exciting games like spiderball, sharks, sprout, pinball, and tower topple. As well as scooters relays, dodgeball, parachute play, and much more! This program is designed for each child to build confidence in their abilities, at their own level of fitness, while learning teamwork and good sportsmanship. Our class will also discuss basic nutrition and the fruit of the Spirit regularly. Please be on time for our warm ups at the very beginning and have your student use the restroom before class.

Requires Math U See Alpha student book and test packets.
Homework: a worksheet a day
Lines, lines and more lines! All letters and numbers are made up of lines: straight, curvy, big, or small. In this play based class we will use stories and movement as a foundation to our exploration of letters and numbers. Every class will start with a fun and engaging circle time. We'll then break out into child directed open ended activities that support concepts practiced at circle time. This class is geared for children 3.5-6 and children who are ready to practice identifying letter/sounds, numbers, quantifying numbers, and writing letters & numbers. Children should be able to engage in a 20 minute circle time without much assistance. This class follows the letters & numbers sequence in the Learning Without Tears book and would pair nicely, although not required, if your family chooses to use that curriculum at home. This would be an excellent class for both terms but is not limited to a full year class. Just know in the second term we will not be starting new but will be continuing what was learned in the first term. Some children could jump in second term and others might not. That all depends on your child and I am happy to assist you if you are unsure. My background is in early childhood education before I became a mom and I just love these early learners! I look forward to connecting with you and your family! Feel free to contact me on Slack with any questions.
Requirements:
Ages 3.5-6. Children should be able to attend and engage at a 20min circle time without much assistance.

This will be a fun, hand's-on class with lots of crafts, games, and experiments. Students will be presented with several different topics within the realm of "science" as they practice creative thinking and use the scientific method of making predictions. Each topic will be studied for 3-4 weeks. Topics will include habitats/ecosystems, outer space, earth science (rocks, trees, etc...), and even some basic chemistry and physics concepts.
Bringing books to life through illustration. In this imaginative class students will dive in to a captivating story: Brian Jacques “Red Wall” independently at home. In class we will bring the scenes, characters and emotions to life through guided illustration sessions. Students will learn techniques in drawing, composition, and creative thinking to turn words in to works of art.
