| Description: | This is a CORE class that meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays for the full year. Parents are required to attend the mandatory Core Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 24th at 2pm, August 24th at 6pm, September 7th at 2pm, or September 7th at 6pm.
Algebra 1 (dark brown book) twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. This course covers: positive and negative numbers, variables, graphs (lines, circles, ellipses, parabolas, hyperbolas), absolute value, metric conversions, negative and fractional exponents, square roots, factoring polynomials, and more. It is very important that the student has a good understanding of: fractions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), decimals and percents, and solving for an unknown. Students will have access to a weekly video they will need to watch before coming to class each Monday.
*** I am charging a $20 supply fee for each student so I can integrate key components from the new Math U See Algebra 1 Principles of Secondary Mathematics book into some of the lessons from the Math U See, Algebra 1 book you are purchasing for this class. |
