Description:This is a CORE class that meets twice a week for the full year. CORE classes have greater expectations of students, parents, and teachers. Parents are required to attend the mandatory CORE Classes Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 26th at 6:45pm or August 28th at 2:45pm. Physical Science is intended for late middle- to early high-school aged students who are beginning a formal study of the sciences which require lab work. Physical Science covers general concepts in chemistry, physics, astronomy, geology, and meteorology. We will be using Apologia Physical Science, 4th edition. Students should expect to spend about an hour each day working through the textbook material. This class is comprised of a review session each week to help students with more difficult concepts from the book, and a weekly lab component. Two weeks are allotted for each module. Students will also learn how to write formal lab reports. This is a full-year science class. Instructor will administer and correct tests and keep grade records.
