Description: | This is a CORE class that meets twice a week for the full year. CORE classes have greater expectations of students, parents, and teachers. Parents are required to attend the mandatory CORE Classes Parent Meeting immediately following Family Orientation on either August 26th at 6:45pm or August 28th at 2:45pm. An introduction to personal economics decision making with emphasis on the financial choices faced by individuals in the build-up and management of net worth. Topics covered include education and experience, earning and spending, savings and debt, taxes and inflation, insurance, investments, and contracts.
Dual Enrollment classes such as this give the student the option to take the course for 3 units of college credit through Northwest Nazarene University. Students opting for college credit would fill out additional registration for NNU after class begins and pay an additional $225 to NNU above teacher costs and FPHRC admin fees. Students may take the class solely for High School credit by paying only teacher and center fees per usual.
If seeking dual-enrollment, NNU offers credit as an economics course. |
