| Description: | This is the middle school version of the popular "BizTown" class.
We will cover financial literacy - budgeting, saving, investing, credit, debt, and risk management.
We will also explore careers by looking at different career paths and understanding the connection between education, career choices and income.
In class we will go through real world scenarios, allowing students to make financial decisions.
*This class will attend a simulation field trip on November 14 in Hillsboro. Students will assigned a "persona" with a specific career, income, and family situation. In the simulation they'll be making decisions about housing, transportation, food, utilities, and other expenses, while trying to balance their budget.* |
