| Description: | Students will learn to dance with expression and artistry, using differing emotions and styles of music. Previous dance experience is required. Student needs to have taken a class such as lyrical, ballet, dance arts, tap or hip hop jazz. Student’s basic dance skills will be strengthened and they will be stretched to explore dance as an art and means of communicating ideas. We will be dancing with props including scarves or ribbons. Students should wear loose-fitting clothes, ballet, jazz, or lyrical shoes. Dancers will have the opportunity to share a dance at our Winter Showcase (December 6th/7th) and our Spring Dance Show. The Spring Show is scheduled for the weekend of May 20th and 21st at 6:00 PM, with more details to come at the mandatory parent meeting in the fall. Students taking multiple classes (or siblings) receive 25% off their second class taken with the same instructor. Fees may be paid monthly or by semester. Costume fees for the Spring Show are due at Spring registration. (Estimated $25 to rent.) Wear dance attire and shoes. Students are encouraged to stretch and practice what they learn in class at home a few minutes each day. |
