Sometimes a student needs just a bit more focused attention in certain areas in math. I am available to tutor students at all levels through Algebra 1. While I'm most familiar with Math-U-See or Saxon, I could also help with other publishers' programs. Bring your math books and homework assignments, and let's work on this together. $25/30 min
Do you... Struggle identifying your child's learning style? Suspect dyslexia or dysgraphia? Need help implementing sensory strategies? Wonder what curriculum is the best fit for your child? Wish your child's IEP was tailored to your homeschooling goals?
I am a homeschool mom and licensed and registered occupational therapist and can help you in all these areas, and more!
OT evaluations/consultations are $75 and are approximately 1 hour. They include formal administration and scoring of appropriate developmental assessments and written report of intervention suggestions, sensory diets, and/or curriculum recommendations.
Your child does not need to have an IEP or developmental diagnosis to receive or benefit from OT services - feel free to contact me directly to see how I can support your homeschool journey!

Chess is great for improving a young person’s concentration and strategic thinking. Educational research has shown that students who learn chess have improved their math abilities, and their general academic performance. Chess Tutoring Beginner will be a 1 hour session each week at FPHRC. This will include playing time and instruction. Our goals for students in the Beginner Tutoring are to learn how to play chess, to learn the principles of using the pieces, openings, strategies, tactics, and how to help students reach their potential as chess players and Christian young people. Every session will include a motivational Chess “Life Lesson” as we discuss what God wants us to learn from life and playing chess.
We are thankful to God for the success of the chess program at FPHRC. We have won first place, and third place as a team at chess tournament competitions. This will be Mr. Snyder's fifth semester at FPHRC. He has a Masters in Teaching from WSUV. He has been a public and private school teacher for the last 20 years. Before that he was an advertising manager, graphic designer, and computer technician. He is currently a professional Christian artist. He enjoys Bible Study, chess, reading, swimming, and hiking. He is a widower with an adult son and daughter. Parents: Please try to be available to volunteer for the tournaments we have each school year. God has blessed us with this building, and many hard working families, but we need more help. Please contact Tom Snyder 360-721-1232 or one of our chess tournament team for more information.
