Description:Wanting to better express yourself in sign language? This class dives deeper into ASL with conversation advice, vocabulary, and lots of active practice. The class is in full immersion to better equip students for conversing with deaf people. Students from Jennifer Zollo's ASL class are encouraged to join this class to advance their ASL skills!
Requirements:Students must know basic signs and the alphabet in order to gain the most from the class.

ASL for Littles Ages 6yrs-8yrs McFarland, Noah Fall 2025 Language Arts

Description:This fun class for young learners will help bridge the gap between the Hearing and Deaf community and will give students a head start for future ASL classes which are offered here at FPHRC. Each week they will learn new signs like the alphabet, finger spelling, seasons and holidays, weather and animals and our final weeks we'll be signing to familiar worship songs! The class will have plenty of games to keep the learning fun and engaging! Note: This class will be taught by a student teacher.
Requirements:A notebook and writing instrument is recommended for writing down the words we're learning in each class but not required. I will provide a list of words after each class and post to our Slack channel.

Description:Your student will explore and learn about the Sun, planets, asteroid belt, dwarf planets, Kuiper Belt, galaxies, nebulae, and even black holes as they discover the marvel and majesty of our loving Creator. As they journey to the farthest reaches of the observable universe, their appreciation for the beauty of creation—and the Creator who designed it—will continue to grow.
Requirements:Purchase textbook: Exploring Creation Astronomy 2nd Edition Must read one chapter a week, take quizzes and discuss the material with the class.

Description:This course is designed to take students one step deeper in automotive maintenance skills than Basic Car Care. We will continue to learn about each of the major systems on a vehicle, how they operate, and how they are maintained. With more access to the shop area, we expect to do more hands on activities with approximately 50% classroom time and 50% shop time. The supply fee includes safety glasses and misc supplies. Taught by a 30+ year Cascadia Technical Academy Auto Tech Instructor.
Requirements:Wearing of safety glasses while in the shop. Ability to follow directions, especially safety instructions and rules.

Description:In this class we learn about automotive technology using the current projects that are available to us at the center. This includes the Mustang and the Suburban as well as other projects that may come up. We discuss the theory of operation for systems & projects that we take on for each vehicle. Over time, we will cover basic theory of operation, maintenance, and light repair of all major systems on a vehicle.
Requirements:Ability to follow directions, especially safety rules. An interest in mechanical things and an eagerness to learn.

Students will continue learning about each of the major vehicle systems, how they operate, and how they are maintained. With increased access to the shop area, students will participate in more hands-on activities, with approximately 50% classroom instruction and 50% shop time. The supply fee includes safety glasses and miscellaneous supplies. This course is taught by a Cascadia Technical Academy Auto Technology instructor with more than 30 years of experience.

Description:Celebrate the fun of fall with our sensory-rich, play-based preschool class designed especially for curious toddlers and preschoolers! Each week, children will explore the colors, textures, and sounds of autumn through hands-on activities like pumpkin & gourd comparisons, leaf suncatchers, pine cone art, and splat-painted fall trees. From sunflower seed tweezing and pumpkin goo sensory bags, we’ll nurture fine motor skills, creativity, and early science discovery. With a blend of art, music, sensory play, and outdoor discovery, this class will leave your child excited to learn and explore every crisp leaf and pinecone they find. Join us in a seasonal journey where nature and learning go hand in hand!
Requirements:Children must be able to attend class without parent (special needs with a student helper is fine). Students need to use restroom before class, and have a parent available on Slack for bathroom breaks during class.
