Albert Einstein said, "Play is the highest form of intelligence." More and more studies are showing the importance of play not just to support healthy social emotional skills but cognitive brain development and I would add a child's spiritual health as well. The wonder of God is so tangible to a child and my aim is to create a space that nurtures and supports a child's natural awe and curiosity. We will begin our class with a fun and engaging circle time that introduces a new social emotional skill we will be working on during our choice time. Children will then choose from various play stations prepared in the room for them to do what children naturally do best: imaginative & creative play. I utilize resources from Second Steps Early Learning Curriculum & the Zones of Regulation material that supports social emotional intelligence. Our class time is purposefully a little longer than most classes so that we can provide sufficient time for children to engage in play, create, build, work through social conflicts, and practice problem solving. My background is in early childhood education, I was a Head Start teacher, children's pastor, I am a mom of 3 beautiful children, and most importantly I'm passionate about following God's lead in supporting what He already is doing in the lives of His children. I'd love to connect with you and your family.
Requirements:
This class is for preschool age children between the ages of 3-5. Children must be 3 by the time of our first class.
This will be a fun, hand's-on class with lots of crafts, games, and experiments. Students will be presented with several different topics within the realm of "science" as they practice creative thinking and use the scientific method of making predictions. Each topic will be studied for 3-4 weeks. Topics will include habitats/ecosystems, outer space, earth science (rocks, trees, etc...), and even some basic chemistry and physics concepts.
Hola Amigos! Come and explore the Spanish language at a preschool level. We will use the Abeka Spanish K5 program as a basis for class but I'll be adding in songs, read aloud and regular spoken Spanish into the classroom so your little can have an immersive experience. Our class will include: a Spanish based circle time, a craft/worksheet time, Spanish games and free play using our Spanish vocabulary. My goal is that your student leaves this class with some basic Spanish vocabulary and a deeper love of Jesus through the learning of a foreign language.
Requirements:
Students must be able to sit through a 10-15 minute circle time, cut and paste with scissors and glue, follow directions and be willing to learn!
Every student should be able to give a great presentation! This class will teach younger learners to become better presenters in their future and current classes. We will cover how to speak in front of a class confidently, how to put a presentation boards together, how to write presentation notes on cue cards and how to put research together. We will assemble presentations, watch videos, and give impromptu speeches to gain confidence and skill.
Requirements:
Must be able to write a paragraph on a topic with minimal help and be able to read a presentation once assembled.
Greetings! My name is Summer St. John, I’m nineteen years old and have been learning ASL for five years. I began studying Sign Language after watching a video of a deaf teacher beautifully signing a story on being seen as a deaf person. After that, God gave me a passion to study the language on my own. At fourteen, I took a semester of ASL from a deaf person and fell more in love with the language. I have taught five ASL classes since then, and am currently assistant teaching with my deaf friend Jennifer. I plan to pursue deaf ministry, and look forward to sharing my passion with others through private ASL lessons.
I encourage parents to learn and teach their kids,

Hi, I'm Ryan and I would love to give the gift of music to your child! I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Ministry from Multnomah University. You have 3 options. you can learn acoustic guitar, focusing on chord shapes and rhythm. You can learn electric guitar, focusing on chords, arpeggios, lead lines, tabs and tone. Or you can learn bass guitar, focusing on fretboard memorization, tabs, rhythm, and groove. My emphasis and approach is that music should be practical and life-giving. This means there will be a foundation of theory, and scales that every guitarist needs to know but there will be a focus on practical playing and fretboard fluency. There's nothing better than having the freedom to create music! Pricing is $100 per month for weekly 30 min. lessons or $135 for 45 min. lessons.
Requirements:
You'll need the instrument you're learning. If you have an electric guitar or bass, you should have an amplifier. Feel free to ask me about recommendations. In terms of age, there isn't a requirement but I've found that the teenage years are the best period of time to learn guitar. You'll need enough dexterity and hand-eye coordination to learn. I'll purchase curriculum and can be reimbursed.
