In this class we will read through some of the My First Little House books (both Laura and Almanzo stories) and learn what it was like to be a pioneer. We will make covered wagons, paint chalkboards, do some sewing of “quilts”, weaving, build log cabins, pressed leaves/flower letters and explore what it was like to live like a pioneer. We will also do some nature study of animals (ones mentioned in our stories: bees, cows, chickens,etc), and plant identification and some uses of them.
I plan to make “badges” and the children would earn a badge when they learned a new skill.

Encouraging the kids to do good deeds and be kind to others. Giving them a list each week of things they can do to be kind and giving and hearing some verses and stories that encourage them along the way.
We will walk through Ephesians 5:10-20 crafting our way through the armor of God. It is so important to teach why the armor is needed and how to equip ourselves everyday in the Word of God. We will do crafts, sensory and art projects for each piece of armor and focus on teaching God’s love and the importance of reading His word and storing it in our hearts and minds.
