This course will be appropriate for anyone who has successfully completed Pre-Algebra , and has a solid grasp of fractions, factors and multiples, radicals, negative numbers, and exponents. NOTE: Dr. Conway is scheduled to miss eight classes during the fall semester (September 21, 23, October 21, 26, 28 and November 2, 16, 18). Classes will be taught by arranged substitute.

Students taking the Algebra 2 course will learn the following skills: advanced exponents; rational expressions and factoring; polynomials and quadratics; linear equations and graphs; basic conic sections and systems of equations. NOTE: Dr. Conway is scheduled to miss eight classes during the fall semester (September 21, 23, October 21, 26, 28 and November 2, 16, 18). Classes will be taught by an arranged substitute.

Students will learn to decode the English language by introducing phonics-based spelling rules which form the foundation of the English language. Did you know that approximately 84% of English words are mostly predictable, using sound-symbol correspondences and spelling patterns? This course integrates spelling, writing, and reading, all critical skills to master before advancing to composition. Alphabet Architects incorporates four of the five senses, making it well suited for all types of learners. Attention to handwriting is emphasized.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: practice the process of "hear, say, think, write, read" 70 basic phonograms that comprise the English language, apply 28 spelling rules that govern the use of phonograms in the English language, spell 300 most frequently used words in the English language (20 each week), analyzing each word to identify applicable spelling rules, produce a learning log of word lists, sentences, spelling rules and grammar basics, write original, complete, correctly spelled sentences
Evaluation Methods: (Instructor will give detailed feedback on elements below): In-class activities and participation, Completion of Black Learning Log, which will become a reference source for future learning, Pre- and post-evaluations to measure growth.

Prerequisites: Students should write lowercase manuscript letters using conventional (top down, left to right) strokes, and be able to decode (read) age-appropriate source material using 70 basic phonograms that comprise the English language. Students will learn spelling strategies that build upon the letter-sound correspondences they have attained thus far.

Listen attentively by making eye contact, facing the speaker, asking questions, and summarizing what is said,
Ask and respond to questions from teacher and other group members

Art Explorers Studio is a hands-on fine arts class designed to inspire creativity while building foundational artistic skills in a warm, encouraging environment. Students will meet weekly with Miss Lucinda to explore drawing, painting, and a variety of other artistic media through guided instruction and creative projects.
Along with developing artistic techniques, students will learn about the Seven Elements of Art and be introduced to notable master artists from different historical periods and artistic styles. The class is designed to cultivate both creativity and an appreciation for beauty, craftsmanship, and artistic expression.
Throughout the year students will complete a variety of engaging projects, including a special Christmas gift project during the fall term. This is a yearlong course and students will automatically be enrolled for Spring semester.

Arts & Crafts for Littles is a class that will let your child's imagination grow. Every week, we will use an easy reader book that ties into the craft we are making. In each class, the children will make a new project to take home. We will be using a wide variety of art materials and techniques to challenge and inspire your child to create. Best of all, your child gets to share their creations with you, without all of the prep work & mess. We will be using, "Low-Mess Crafts for Kids" by Debbie Chapman. All crafts will be NEW this semester. NOTE: Parents need to notify the teacher through Slack if their child will be absent so the project can be set aside for that student to pick up the following week.

My name is Summer St. John, I’m 23 years old, and have been learning American Sign Language for eleven years while teaching classes and private lessons. I am very passionate about the language and investing in the Deaf community. This class focuses on active conversation, vocabulary, and practice expressing signs as well as comprehension. Fully immersed in the language, students will be equipped for conversing effortlessly with deaf people. Anyone currently enrolled in Jennifer Zollo's ASL class is encouraged to join as an addition to their ASL journey.

This course is designed to take students one step beyond Basic Car Care in automotive maintenance skills. Students will continue learning about each of the major vehicle systems, how they operate, and how they are maintained.
With increased access to the shop area, students will participate in more hands-on activities, with approximately 50% classroom instruction and 50% shop time.
