Description:Division and being able to divide is vitally important in life and for moving to the next level in math. We will be using the Math U See Delta (yellow) books. Although this book will focus on division, it is a well rounded curriculum covering double digit multiplication, word problems, area, perimeter, long division, standard/metric measurement, fractions, roman numerals and more. It is important that your student already has a foundation in multiplication for this class. This class is a prerequisite for the next classes in the Math-U-See Curriculum. The instructor, Mr. Snyder, has a Master’s degree in teaching with 20 years of experience. This class is challenging but I try to make it fun. We work with students to keep the frustration level low. Quality learning is more important than quantity of learning. I want all students to love math as I do. I hope to see your student in class!
Requirements:Parents need to order the Math-U-See Delta Student Pack (yellow book) and the Instruction/Teacher manual. (You can find a used teacher manual online for less than $10) Instruction books explain the lessons and provide answers to lessons and tests. Students will need their workbooks starting the first day of class. Students are expected to complete their assignments on time with a minimum of 80% correct. I will provide a 3-Ring Notebook. Students bring their Math-U-See Student Workbook and Tests book, 3 sharpened pencils, erasers, paper, a water bottle, healthy snacks, and an enthusiastic, hungry-to-learn and have fun attitude to every class. We will do all math with paper, pencil, charts, manipulatives, and models. The use of calculators will not be allowed in this Division course.

Drama Basics and Beyond Ages 12yrs-18yrs Van Boxtel, Khrystyna Fall 2023 Theater
Schedule: Wednesday - Auditorium - 002: 3:00 pm - 4:50 pm
Description:This class is to teach any who are interested, and specifically to prep our theater students for our spring production. With all the changes that came with the new building, we are taking a different approach to theater this fall. This class will cover lessons we don't have time to teach when the focus is on the performance/ materials. We will touch on all the basics (this is good even for experienced individuals as a reminder!), as well as try some more challenging activities to get or actors to think outside the box, and pretend they are holding said box (i.e. "object work")! We will practice our skills with games, exercises, excerpts of scenes, performing in front of peers, and more! Please note this is a safe place to try out acting for the first time, however every student needs to want to be there because acting is a very vulnerable experience, and having students that are negative or unwilling to participate can hinder other actors from learning. There will be a performance that we will charge $5 admission to cover the cost of scripts.
Requirements:Must be willing to participate in activities that might seem silly or embarrassing but are ultimately to grow the student into a better actor!

This handwriting course begins with basic italic and a gradual introduction to italic cursive for the first semester, then transitions to italic cursive during the second semester. For the drawing portion in Fall Semester, students will be using Book 1, On The Farm, Kids And Critters, Storybook Characters. The main goal is to develop fine motor skills in drawing and handwriting strokes, and have fun doing it! This is ideally a year-long course.
