Description:The life skill of cooking is an important skill for any child. In this class we will learn the art of measuring, reading recipes, knife skills, nutrition, and making simple meals and snacks. We will also be learning safety when using various appliances and kitchen tools. The recipes this semester will be different than the ones from the Fall semester.

Description:Messy Play's fun and engaging projects will strengthen hands, build dexterity, and improve fine motor skills, which are used in writing and hand eye coordination. The projects will defer from Fall semester and they will include wet, dry, foamy, slimy, and other various textures.

Dance Arts A
Ages 5yr-7yr Georgia Freeman Spring 2024 Dance

Schedule: Tuesday - Dance Studio B - 118: 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm
Description:This class is an engaging introduction into ballet, tap, and tumbling for boys and girls! This is a fast moving class where your child will be able to learn easy dance steps, fun choreography, and be able to use some props and costumes! Ballet and Tap shoes are required for this class. Suggested attire- Girls: pink tights, leotard, and skirt as well as hair pulled back in a bun. Boys: t-shirt and sweatpants. Students will be performing in a Winter Showcase on January 19th as well as the Spring Dance Show in May (16th-19th). Elementary Composition and Grammar Ages 7yr-12yr Becky Pomaville Spring 2024 Language Arts

Description:This beginning writing course (Write to Show Thyself Approved) is for students who are ready to learn how to compose fact and fiction pieces. It covers organizing and note taking to build a formal paragraph. By the end of the year students will be writing reports and stories. Grammar will be taught in context with stories. Students will learn the mechanics of writing as well. There will be required homework each week. I homeschooled 8 children as well as pursued additional teacher training. I love to see kids make progress in academics and so I present the class in a fun & engaging manner. Each child will be able to progress from their own, individual ability to higher levels. We will cover what God has to say about writing and character traits and how we should use our best efforts at improving communication skills.
Requirements:Students taking this class are expected to be already reading and able to write a sentence. Students should also be able to understand and follow directions to participate in classroom activities, such as reading aloud, speaking when requested during the class, respectful listening, and participating in simple in-class writing. All core classes require the family to commit to completing homework. Students will need to bring a 3 ring binder to class for handouts and resources. Also required are pens in black, blue, and red ink.

Each class builds on the last class to improve agility, strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility. Join Miss Kristin, (AFAA-Aerobics, and Fitness Association of America), Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Together we will work through obstacle courses, body weight strength training, basic sports movements, interval training, and some fun self defense moves. Many new and exciting games like spiderball, sharks, sprout, pinball, and tower topple. As well as scooters relays, dodgeball, parachute play, and much more! This program is designed for each child to build confidence in their abilities, at their own level of fitness, while learning teamwork and good sportsmanship. Please be on time for our warm ups at the very beginning and have your student use the restroom before class. Bring water & athletic shoes.
