*students enrolled in a teaching ceramics class do not pay the supply fee for this class* This is a 2 hour delight directed course for students who want more time/freedom exploring the medium of clay. Students are required to outline their own project objectives for the term. Students may check out books and magazines from our ever-growing library of Ceramic Literature, they will have free access to all the tools in the studio, including wheels, slab roller, hand building tools, etc. Students are expected to be fully responsible for set up and clean-up of their personal project as well. Project ideas: make a matching set of cups and saucers, practice throwing consistent size tumblers, sculpt garden art, create a wall hanging out of tiles. We will discuss a timeline for each project, the student will then be expected to work on their own during class. I will oversee their projects and check in with them weekly. I am on hand the entire class for questions, and inspiration.
Requirements:
*For students enrolled in a hand building or wheel throwing class, there will be no supply fee for this class* This class is a good fit for students who want the freedom to explore the ceramics medium as their curiosity leads them. Students need to practice self discipline and time management and be able to work independently.

Schedule:
Thursday - Auditorium - 002: 3:00 pm - 4:50 pm
Description:
Theatre Club Jr. is a class for younger students aged 7-12, who want to be part of a theatre production. Whether your child wants to be a star, or just experience being on stage for the first time, Theatre Club Jr. is the place to be. For the Spring Semester we will be performing “ The Enchanted Bookshop.” This is a funny and heartwarming story about a book store owner, who is trying to keep her book shop open. With technology everywhere, the books in her book shop are rarely sold. What the book shop owner doesn’t know is that at night when she is sleeping, the book story characters come to life and try to find a way to save her book shop. This streamlined program requires some volunteer parent involvement, mainly for student supervision while the director is working with students on stage. Theatre Club Jr. is comprised of 16 class rehearsals, one dress rehearsal, and one performance. Our performance will be on May 23, 2024.
Requirements:
All students need to 7-12 years old. Parents need to work with their child to memorize their lines. Parent participation is appreciated if you are available for student supervision. There is a mandatory parent meeting @ 5:00-5:30 PM. on February 1, 2024 after our first class. Families will need to purchase the costume for their child's character. (Selected by the director)

Schedule:
Tuesday - Classroom - 224: 10:00 am - 10:50 am
Description:
In Kindergarten Math we will be using the Primer Math U See book, which will help set your student up for success in math. It covers a wide variety of concepts such as; counting objects, place value, number recognition, beginning addition and subtraction of items and numbers, measuring, skip counting by 2, 5, 10, and 100, telling time by hours and minutes, basic word problems and more! I look forward to helping you get your student ready for the math adventure that awaits them!
Normally each student would have the Primer Math U See book and test booklet (The Red ones). But since I’m trying something new and starting half way through the year. I decided I’m going to make copies from the workbook and put together weekly packets instead. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
