Description:This course is designed to introduce the wonders of our solar system, the stars, and beyond. Your student will explore and learn about the sun, planets, asteroid belt, dwarf planets, the Kuiper belt galaxies, nebulae, and even black holes as they reveal the marvel and might of our loving Creator. Each week in class we will do an experiment or project to reinforce what students are learning. Students must be able and willing to read the chapter at home individually or with a parent (there's also an audio version available for purchase from Apologia if that works better for your student) and come to class ready to engage in our classroom project/experiment that correlates with their at-home reading for that week. The goal is to continue to spark their curiosity about the world God has created and build good at-home study skills along with having a fun time with their peers doing cool experiments together.

Description:In this class, we will learn about theater from the crew perspective, and go over numerous things you need to know in the different positions on crew. We will have you put on and take off mics, set and strike a scene, etc. This class will meet Fridays, from 2-3pm, right before show rehearsals. There will be 4-6 class times (times TBD) where crew will need to stay until 5 to rehearse with the cast to prep for the show. Our show is tentatively May 10 and 11.

Description:In a class like Dungeons and Dragons, Survival And Adventure Skills will teach you how to survive in the wilderness as we set the stage through a fictional scenario. Using only the supplies chosen at the beginning of the semester, students will learn everything there is to know about food and water sourcing, shelter building, and how to build a homestead from the ground up in this educational adventure on survival and bushcraft for beginners.

Description:Come strengthen your keyboarding and computer skills in this hands-on course! Students will spend 4 weeks each on: word processing, spreadsheets, slideshow presentations, and simple graphic design. This class is appropriate for students looking to learn their way around a computer as well as seasoned students needing time in the computer lab to complete homework assignments. The teacher will give assignments for each unit, but any assignment may be replaced with a similar one of the student's or parent's choosing to make the best use of lab time. This class accommodates a wide age range as it is run more like concurrent tutoring than whole classroom teaching, reach out to the teacher on Slack if you have any questions!

Description:We will be learning how to safely solder, understand the care and cleaning of equipment, learn what equipment is needed, and how it is used. We will explore different techniques, types of solder, how to remove solder devices, and practice removing components from a PC Board. Students will build small practice projects while advancing to more difficult soldering projects
Requirements:SAFTEY FIRST, Students must stay focused during the soldering class for one hour. Any student who is disruptive or unsafe will not be able to attend class. Safety glasses and soldering kits are to be supplied by the instructor with the supply fee.

Description:This course is a basic electricity class. We will be learning the requirements of components and building simple projects with PC Breadboarding projects. We will begin with simple DC projects and advance to more difficult projects dealing with series, parallel circuits, resistors, transistors, diodes, LEDs, capacitors (ceramic and electrolytic), and Volt-Ohm-Amp meter uses.

By registering for this class, your child will automatically be registered for both blocks.
