Preschool geared class time! We will engage and learn skills that lay the foundation to be lifelong learners. We will have opportunities to develop physical, fine and gross motor skills with many different activities. Using their hands to explore materials like, paint, play dough, puzzles, sand as well as things to write with. We will work with children on respecting others and working together. Children build there social skills and self control. With my support children learn to resolve conflicts that come up during play. Emotional development in class will help your child recognize and manage their own feelings and behaviors. We will also practice showing concern for others and cultivating empathy. I will provide materials to use and time to explore them. Please send a healthy large snack and a full water bottle with your child's name labeled on it. Please dress them in clothing that can get messy or stained. If there are young please have extra clothes.

Petunia Beware teaches us that the grass may not actually be greener on the other side and how we can be thankful for what we have. The Night Gardener shows us the blessing of doing kind and beautiful things for others. Some books will teach the months of the year, seasons, and counting as well. We'll throw in some fun ones too, Dragons Love Tacos, Where the Wild Things Are, We Were Tired of Living in a House, and more! We will sing songs, do crafts and play games related to the books we read.

Description:
Body Movement and Story time for kids will encourage age appropriate movement and stories that helps strengthen fine motor and gross motor skills and expand our language skills. In this program, we will introduce the art of dance and music in a very fun, loving and professional environment. We will work on skills such as rhythm, coordination, self confidence, discipline and structure. In a addition we will also work on social skills like taking turns, making friends, teamwork and listening skills. We will use body actions to communicate an image (leaf falling) communicate a journey (seeds growing into plants reaching for the sun) or communicate feelings such as strength and joy. Both boys and girls enjoy these classes. Stories will be preschool age appropriate and imaginative for the children. Please have your child in comfortable clothes to move in.Please have a water bottle labeled with your child's name along with a snack and restroom opportunity before class.
Join the adventure as we explore wild animals of our world! Our safari will include crafts, writing, songs, finger plays, books, and lots of learning fun for our young explorers! *Class is 14 weeks and starts Sept. 29th.
Carol Bates is a recently retired teacher of 38 years. She has a masters in education, with a minor in technology. She is excited to continue to pursue her love of teaching after retirement at FPHRC!
